Starting with Tohaa

List #4: ITS

This list will focus on the ITS system. It brings specialists to compete for objectives.

What you’ll need:

  • Tohaa Starter
  • Chaksa Auxiliar Box
  • Makaul Box
  • Rasail Boarding Team box
  • Igao blister

The List:

Kamael (Forward Observer)
Gao-Rael (Sniper Rifle)
Makaul (Heavy FlameThrower)
Kotail (Forward Observer)
Rasail Boarding Team (Viral Combi)
Rasail Peripheral (Heavy Flamethrower)
Sakiel (Viral Combi)
Clipsos (Forward Observer)
Kumotail (Doctor+Engineer)
Chaksa Auxiliar (Baggage + Heavy Flamethrower)

Kamael (FO)
Hatail Aelis Keesan
Makaul (HFT)
Chaksa Auxiliars (HMG)
Nikoul Ambush Unit (Viral Sniper Rifle)

Dual Combat group, to give both enough orders to run around a bit. A mix of triads, heavy hitters, and fast specialists, with some decent backline defence! The 5 orders on the second group might seem a bit few, but I think you won’t spend them too much on Nikoul and Chaksa if you deploy them right. 😉 Than you’ll have 5 orders on a linkteam, which allows you to move up to 40 inch max, if you feel the need to do so. Enough to run around with! 😉

Aelis brings a K1 Combi rifle, D-charges, Flash pulse and Nanopulser.. together with Sensor, Defensive Hacking Device and Regeneration.

Toolbox unit, isn’t she? 😉 Sensor allows you to discover all Camo tokens in Zone of Control. Together with the MSV2 Gao-Rael sniper and flamer templates she’s your anti-camo counter. Her K1 Ammo is lethal for anything with a high ARM stat, as K1 ignores ARM stat, dropping it to zero. Every ARM save has to be a 13 or higher. Next to that Sensor unlocks the Triangulated Fire skill, which allows you to make an BS attack for an entire order, ignoring all the applicable MODs (Range, TO:Camo/Camo/ODD, cover). You see that big TO Camouflaged TAG over there? K1 Ammo ignores his ARM stat, and Triangulated Fire ignores his TO mods, his cover mods… Ouch!

Defensive Hacking Device is the only way to toy around with your opponent’s AD units, and to negate the effects of other hackers.. although there isn’t much to hack in this list. 😉

Flash pulse can blind targets which isn’t bad either, and could come in handy when you encounter a beast that might be too big to swallow whole. Blinding them will give you a chance to take them down without them doing anything.

Baggage Chaksa is similar to the Baggage Remote in Human Sphere armies; shifting the retreat treshold by 20 extra points. So you’ll enter retreat after losing 245 instead of 225 points. That’s neat. And he stand his own with the Heavy Flamethrower and Sensor abilities!

Kumotail + Chaksa Servant is the Tohaa Support unit; a Doctor and Engineer combined into one! It’s the only way to heal Wounds applied to Symbiont Armour. But remember; when Symbiont enters the inactive state.. it’s gone. You’ll probably use her healing/engineer skill mostly for the Rasail whose Symbiont is multiwound. The Chaksa Servant is the Kumotail’s servant unit, with the G:Servant rule. Allowing you to keep the Kumotail save, while the Chaksa repairs/heals and gets shot!

You might wanna correct the Poison for the Ectros there, it doesn’t work like that in 3rd edition!

I’m playing Tohaa and totally enjoyed reading this article. I was amazed by the Rasail troops by their look, but now with 3 wounds, I will get them for sure…

    Thanks

Just a heads up, Kumotail can’t repair Symbiont. Nothing in N2 can. N3 adds the possibility to heal Symbiont (with Symbiobombs) but you can’t do it many times.
