Starting With Haqqislam

 List #1: Hammer and Anvil (a budget list)

This is a balanced list, covering most angles – HMG for long-range firepower, flamethrowers and grenades for close in assaults, a Multi-Spectral Visor should anyone try and pull Smoke or Camouflage shenanigans, and a Hacker to make life difficult to enemy heavy troops (Heavy Infantry, Remotes or, heavens forbid, a TAG).

What will you need for this list:

• Haqqislam Starter Set,
• Djanbazan HMG blister,
• Khawarij blister (at the moment there’s only the Khawarij rifle one available),
• Naffatun blister (containing 2 Naffatun HFT).

 The list:

• So, we have a Janissary Lt here, who works just like in the previous list.
• A Ghulam who is an alternate Lt choice.
• Ghulam Doc to save our wounded (proxy with one of the starter box Ghulam).
• Ghulam Hacker to counter enemy heavy targets (again, proxy with one of the starter box Ghulam).
• Three Naffatun (since only the one from the starter is labelled as Light flamethrower variant, the two HFT models from the Naffatun Blister will proxy as their LFT colleagues) for area defense and assault. Also, alternate Lt.
• A Hunzakut to jump things and waste them with Surprise shot – preferably up close with the shotgun. His other role would be to place Repeaters for your Hacker. With Infiltration and CH:Camouflage, he’s the right man for the job (use the Hunzakut Sniper from the starter box for him).
• A Djanbazan Sniper. Due to limited mobility (4-2) and long range of fire, he usually needs a point with good view – and far away from his targets (to maximize distance modifiers in his favour. He will be able to neutralise most of the Camo / TO Camo / ODD / Smoke-obscured targets, and’ if placed in Cover, he will be pretty survivable. While his ability to Regenerate is not as likely as Ghulam Doc’s Doctor Plus (55% vs. 85% chance), it is still better than nothing – you can find him a sniper’s nest even somewhere with no easy access for a Doctor, and still hope for him to recover from his injuries. Keep in mind that Regeneration skill includes Shock Immunity – getting wounded by enemy using Shock ammo isn’t going to make Djanbazan instant KIA. If you also manage to have him in Cover, the ARM bonus will make him pretty resilient.

Problem I see with this list – it is still only 8 Regular orders on table. Be careful as to how you spend these Orders, for you won’t have too many of them.
