Starting With Haqqislam

List #4 The Sword of Allah

One of the problems I see with N3 generic Haqqislam (and not only it) is that there are not many high-cost troops really worth taking. Which results in a 300pts list growing into more than 10 models – and therefore more than one Combat Group. Multiple Combat Groups are IMO difficult to manage effectively…

What will you need for this list:

  • Haqqislam Starter Set,
  • Hassassin Ragik Hacker blister
  • Kaplan box set (or Kaplan Spitfire blister for close proxy, or some other model as proxy)
  • Sekban HRL blister
  • Maghariba Guard TAG box set.
JANISSARY Doctor 0 41
GHULAM Hacker 0.5 20
GHULAM FO 0 13
GHULAM Repeater 0 14
NAFFATÛN Lieutenant 0 12
HUNZAKUT FO 0 18
RAGIK Hacker 0.5 32
MAGHARIBA 360 2 98
KAPLAN Eng+ADHL 0 27
SEKBAN HRL 1.5 24

This list has a full spectrum of Specialists – a Doctor, an Engineer, two Hackers and two Forward Observers. It has also a TAG for heavy firepower (and survivability) – and it fits into a single, 10-Order Combat Group.

  • Janissary (use the Starter Box Janissary) is your fast, resilient Specialist for objective grabbing, and not shy of a fight. He can help any nearby casualty, too.
  • The Ghulam (use the starter Box trio) provide for two Specialist and optional Lieutenant. The Hacker allows you to apply all the information warfare goodies, while the doc is the go-to person if someone bites a bullet. However, their primary role is to provide Orders.
  • Naffatun (from the Starter Box) provides rear-area security, and can be your Lt, too. Also, provides a Regular Order.
  • Hunzakut is a Camo Infiltrating Specialist – ideal for early Objective grab. He does also provide Deployable Repeaters which your Hackers are going to find pretty useful!
  • Hassasin Ragik Hacker is an objective grabber and general problem solver. He can Hack enemy REM, HI and TAGs, or simply lay waste with his Rifle + Light Shotgun. Just make him Combat Jump in the right spot (remember the Ghulam Hacker can use a program to assist in that).
  • Maghariba is the biggest and best armored unit in the whole Haqqislam. This variant, with its 360-Visor, makes also a pretty effective sentry turret in Suppressive fire mode (well, up to 24”, but still it’s something). Use it for general assault or as a defensive piece. Expect it to attract a lot of enemy attention. (Red: it’s due for a resculpt and concept art has been shown during GenCon 2014)
  • Kaplan Engineer can repair Maghariba – or any other model should a technician’s skill be the right solution. He can also disable enemy heavy targets with his ADHL and grab Objectives. I’d keep him to back up the Maghariba primarily.
  • Sekban HRL – with 360-visor, he can provide powerful ARO in any direction, and also devastate enemies at long range.

Recap

Generic Haqqislam allows for a huge choice of troops and playstyles. Any tactic can be made viable with them.

While many high-end gadgets are not available, we have access to some really unique troops. Also, specialising in Light Infantry means we always have someone capable for pushing the fight towards victory.

Plays Qapu Khalqi, Corregidor and recently Hassassin Bahram. Claims to be "just a humble traveller on the Silk Road".
