June Preview #1: Combined Army Support Pack
The releases are showing up quick this month!
Combined Army finally gets their own Support Boxed Set. When even the JSA got their own Support Pack, it was due to happen. 😉
This boxed set consist out of Dr. Worm; the Obsidian Medchanoid, and two little helpers. 🙂 Next to that, this Support Pack is useable by all current CA sectorials, so it’s a great buy for the starting CA player! 
I took the wrong time to start playing MAF! First the Yaogats get resculpted and now Doctor Wurm is ina boxed set haha! I should keep a better eye on the rumor mill. This is a very nice box, but i hope there are still slave drone blisters around ^^.
Nobody expected that CB will repack them now, but It was matter of time that we will see them in one box. Also Dr. Worm is great unit in MAF, because he is only MAF Doctor unit (I still hope for Morat combat Doctor).
Yaogats were also very surprising release, because everybody expected that we will see Rodoks first, but it didn’t happen.
Well, looks like CB are up to something…
Did they change the abilities of the Medchanoid or something? I don’t remember it having the ability to have slave drones.
No?
Slave Drones are – if memory serves me – the CA version of G:Servant REM (Palbot, Yaozao, Nasmat, Zondbot, pick your favourite). Which means they can be attached to a model that has Doctor or Engineer skill.
Any model with these skills, in fact – including SpecOp. That’s the rule sine the G: Servant REM were introduced back in Human Sphere.
Obsidion Medchanoid is both Doc and Engineer. Why wouldn’t you be able to give them Slave Drones?
From Human Sphere:
“Ghost: Servant. This Special Skill that allows a Doctor or an Engineer
to operate or repair by tele-presence through a Remote. Only figures
with the Doctor or Engineer Special Skill can use Remotes with Ghost:
Servant. Before the battle starts it is compulsory to determine which figure
will control each Servant Remote, which cannot be used by any other
miniature.”
Points wise: Obsidian 23 pts, +3 for each Slave Drone. Can’t imagine running an Obsidian without them at that price, keeping valuable doc/engineer in cover.
He has to get out amongst it if he is going to be used as a Specialist though his little Slave’s can’t fulfill ITS missions for him.
