Inside Scoop! WarCors Program

WARCOR UPDATE

New details provided to Data Sphere by Koni of Corvus Belli defines what events count for WarCor participation, their new app, and the possible future of prize support.

Yesterday, Infinity enthusiasts scrambled to be the first 100 applicants for the new WarCor program yet much of the specifics were still unknown. But today is a new day and we’re here to fill in some gaps for the curious reader.

The WarCor Job

Tournaments aren’t the only thing that will count towards the monthly events required from a WarCor. In fact, WarCors are expected to do more than just run tournaments. Running a so-called ‘Infinity Boot Camp’ that most of us know as a demo day, as well as painting sessions, leagues, contests, demoing the game to someone who has contacted a WarCor though the site, and all kinds of events can be reported to meet the requirement.

So what happens if a WarCor misses his monthly obligation? No worries. Life can be unpredictable and CB won’t kick you out of the program immediately and you’ll just receive a reminder from the system. But if you miss two months in a row you’ll lose your WarCor status and you will cry.

The App

The new WarCor app is being developed under the careful eye of -V-, the very same -V- who has kept Infinity Army top notch for all these years. It’s a browser app, so it will be compatible with most Internet-enabled devices, though no word if it will be Flash based like the army builder. It will not have the same function as the ITS reporting app on the website, so WarCors will still be using the same reporting system we already have.

Rewards

And now that WarCors have a better picture of their responsibilities and the kind software they’ll be using; let’s talk rewards!

Although you filled out your t-shirt size on the application, you will not be receiving one in the mail without ordering one from the exclusive WarCor webshop using the points you’ve earned running events. The shop will also have an alternate WarCor miniature sculpt not available to the general public.

For the foreseeable future, WarCor points and discounts can only be used to buy directly from the CB webshop. And for those of you who live outside of Europe, that means paying international shipping. But according to Koni, CB is working on a solution to help out its non-European WarCors.

I was looking for an excuse to buy a tablet computer, and the app might just be the reason to.

Looks like a good enough reason to me! 😉 I’d postpone the purchase just a little bit though, if you’re looking for iStuff. We haven’t had any information on the app yet and if it comes in Flash, like the Army Builder, not a single iThing will show it.

Nice, one weird thing though: if i run a demo or tournament or anything in my lgs i will still have to buy warcor stuff from CB directly instead of the lgs.
Not sure how much the shop owner will appreciate this…

The shop owner will probably earn some profit if Infinity takes off in his LGS. 😉 Sometimes it’s good to take a loss, to gain in the future. CB is trying their very best to work on a solution, like Koni says in the article!
