As far as the mini goes.....eh? He's not bad in anyway, he's just not as awesome as I was hoping!

For me, worst miniature released in last few months. Or maybe it's just expectations were too high? Neverthless same as with april releases. When they say it will be supah-doopah-badass and it really is just "good" you feel kinda meh...

I think this is one of the minis that could benefit "feet on the pebble" pose. Shame it would require some serious effort to execute.

There was a mention of MAS -resin base? I take this example doesn't have it.

Certainly don't think he is bad! But, then the yard-stick is set so high by the other Mantic releases. Maybe could benefit from a classic leather type jacket?

I'm glad this is the LE release though, rather than any of the other general releases for next month.

Ok, I saw him in flesh today. Turned out he doesn't have ol' plastic slotta base with him at all, just the micro arts one. A bit different than the paint, the asphalt have a hole and a broken weapon on it and it goes slightly over the underlying "base" -part.

And yes the world is ending. I found a Miniature I would paint/use even if I got it for free. Though if paid to... That is another story.

I find the character design somewhat shallow. Already did when I saw the artwork, so I am not surprised I'm not too fond of the mini. Maybe different colours would look nicer.

He's so-so and his pose is boring and a little contrived.

An uninspired model that couldn't even be saved by Angel's painting.
It also looks something like Ryan Gosling (yet another reason to not like it).

Gimme back the trophy option.
Half the players in my local area play sectorial forces or ALIENS. Neither can use it, and it's a reason for them to not even bother entering a tourney if it is the prize.
They'd also much rather the pretty trophy they have a slim chance of winning, to something they can't use nor want.

So the two ariadna players would use it (but I don't think either of them like the model anyway). None of the Haqq players (mostly QK), PanO (knights or Neoterra), or aliens would.

I don't mind the pose very much...I'd certainly pick him up if I had the opportunity. It just looks like he's poking around a corner.

I repeat my sentiment from the official forum, coming at him from the mindset that he's a bounty hunter personality, ala cowboy bebop, than a competent, brutal killer, the model makes more sense.

I'd imagine he's like a celebrity. A bit of rough that those maya-watching housewives secretly fancy while their husbands are at the office makin barrier-mazes to put space-meals on the table. Women eh?

True, but that still only applies to ITS events. Outside official tournaments, it would only be the Tohaa and CA players.

Where you seem to have people who know that ITS isn't all there is.

But that's a different country with access to craploads of miniature makers and awesome games conventions - besides the big dog in the room.
(I've been to a Salute. I'd kill to have something like that here (if our population could support it).)
There's still too many gamers with tournament douchebag syndrome here infesting the hobby for that to be a reality in my lifetime.

I'm really fortunate that my local meta is so chill on this sort of thing. Everyone loves them some mercs! And, even better, proxies are not just tolerated, they're encouraged. A couple of weeks ago one of the most experienced players was using historical cowboy minis for his Odalisque Haris link.

I think the attitude around here is "let's just encourage people to play instead of getting hung up on ITS rules".

Atlanta is kind of a mix. We use ITS for army lists, since we do so many ITS events. But everyone proxies all the time. Mostly because we're pretty loyal to our LGS, and it can be hard for him to get in all the new releases and keep everything stocked all the time. There's a lot of remote-sharing that goes on too.

"Hey, I need a baggage remote, who's got one?" sort of thing.
