HB list, first ever, for friendly play

Hi,

So, I just started with the game, finished painting my first miniatures and will be joining some friends to play my first couple games. I got HB almost by chance, buying some second hand models, but I found I really like the look and fluff for the models and the sectorial.

Still, I am totally new at this, and this is what I came up with using the stuff I have (not crazy about proxies). I do have a few more minis (couple Daylamis, a HRL muyib, a regular ragik and a hussam) plus another remote. Both my remotes are scratch built with magnetized weapons and I can pretty much make any configuration available for HB.

My idea was to use the Lasiq and the Shihab for area control, the engineer and the ragik hacker for objectives, the Mutawi'ha, the Fiday and Al-Djabel to put pressure on the opponent, and the link Muyib team to do a bit of everything.

Any sugestions are welcome.

Suggestion 1: drop the format to 200 points for your first couple games. 300 is where nasty shit gets fielded against you (see dual Fidays).

Suggestion 2: get rid of the Fidays, learn how your other units work and learn to handle your army in a basic way, then add the Fidays back. They tend to become crutches and it's better to wait than to unlearn bad habits.

Otherwise the list looks good. Maybe I'd swap the engineer for a cheap FO (maybe the sensor remote?), it's a much easier classified if you're gonna play ITS. Unless you plan to rely on Ragik's Spotlight.

Hi Thanks for the suggestions. If I drop the engineer, wont I be too light on specialists? I do have that option, but was wondering if I would not be sacrificing that role.

I do want to play some smaller games, but the club where my friends play usually do 300pts single games or mock tournaments. I plan on trying some 200pts games to learn the mechanics, though.

Yeah, that's why I said to swap him for a FO drone which is a specialist. And a more useful one (fast, camo hunting) than an engineer who has little gear to fix and is kinda static.
