@ Mob:
If I'd taken the shot straight from the front you wouldn't have seen the pointed end because It had been directly behind the rack! ;) That's why I took the picture from the side of the mannequin.

Call it optical illusion, but here it looked like the mannequin was not rotated, but the skirt was (TV weather people wearing all kind of weird things latelly also preset the asymmetry idea). Add belly button mark to manequin? :v: Some dress forms, have visible sewn lines, or are multipart (adjustable), so they help with references. We would had not seen the exact tip if 100% front photo, but we could had extrapolated.

So now just the top dress?

The lower part of the dress is finished. The tacking threads are still in so I can handle it better. Was quite some work :D

Very nicely done!

Will you just be extending to fabric for the upper part of the dress or making it a two piece skirt and vest kind of thing?

The upper part for the dress. As you can see the tacking threads are still in again.

The upper part and the lower part will be sewn together to build the dress. That's where it'll get its details, too.

Since I'm not very good at sewing these box pleats are really difficult to me to be honest :D

I thought that the front part of the dress (orange one) was more closed together like the photo. Super nice the orange cloth bendiness.

I like the belt trick you did there! If you didn't know better, you'd never know!

I'd be curious to see if you could create an illusion for the "closed" lower front area by making a new section of pleated cloth or perhaps just a front "flap" that is zipper'ed on? Maybe something that involves the belt more intimately? Velcro'd or buttoned to the belt? Hmm... :?:

Uhm, not to sound creepy or anything, but you've got a very cute tummy, leave it open! It's going to look great when everything is all put together. Moreover, I'm sure the last thing you want to do at this point is deal with anymore orange pleats over such a minor detail. :suicide:

Well, the upper part (at the waist) has the intended spacing. The problem is my broad hip that makes it go apart at the bottom region. >_<
But if you knew how much time and effort I put into getting a nice, seamless edge you knew that I won't change anything ;) :P

Not exactly, the problem with your hips is not the size but the obsession. Let others have that, Savanarola can be club leader.

It would need one more pleat to match drawing, the center opening starts from the inner part of the bust curves, creating a narrow opening. And it even deforms towards the center at the bottom (wtf?). So neither the picture nor the miniatures have real pleats, because they are other thing like a bunch of (elastic?) "straps" sewn together, or done by someone that does not understand curves and pleats. But as is, yours looks good, more belly so Maru can go full "ommph" again.

Oh, damn, curves. :P

You look pretty good in that right photo. I hope next is with arms showing.

Compare... yours is going great.

You have constructed this dress based on a drawing and a miniature. Most people have patterns to go by. I am very impressed, because you have make a very wearable piece of clothing. No need to fret about it. If you must, just use tape-- not sure what kind, hidden underneath the belt, to hold/pull it together. It sort of looks like this is what is happening in the illustration , if you look at it closely.

The sleeves are looking rather nice, there! Did you use elastic or anything similar for the sleeves to fasten them to the arms?

A media personality... a Go Go Yashia :D

Though you have class. As for Go go Marlene, I'm not so certain about that...
They say there will be Heaven and the Fount of Kausar,
That there, there will be pure wine and honey and sugar
Fill up the wine cup and place it in my hand
(For) ready cash is better than a thousand credits.

Now that's so Kawaii! XD

Bard? Very cool. The Bard class in D&D 5e is quite impressive. Something to consider if you ever play a PnP RPG again. In Infinity, some sort of WarCor like Thamyris ( though he is a Greek and not a Vedic) might be the best fit.

BTW, watched the Worblas video, no idea what is funnier, if the speed up, the overlaid texts or shooting yourself with the gun. :aaa: :v:

I heard the 5th should be better again. We quit with the "every class feels absolutely the same"-edition.
We went over to Savage Worlds, ran one adventure of Shadowrun and are now back to Savage Worlds. Might one day go back to D&D (where everything began) eventually, but with the Infinity RPG coming....

Mob of Blondes wrote:At last one with normal face color. [...]

Ah, you're right! Didn't even notice all the other Infinity Cosplays had my face covered :D
