I think I'll have to withdraw my entry for this season; I decided to varnish my minis before taking photos but they got some pretty nasty frosting and a horrid rough surface texture as a result. :(

I've read about a frosting removal technique, you might want to try it before you thorw your models into paint removal jar.

Spray them with olive oil, then gently wash it down. It is said to work like wonder.

Dunno, read it today, never tried it myself. Still, seems worth a try. Olive oil and soapy water aren't going to harm a model, and even if they damage the paint, you were going to remove it completely anyways, weren't you?

Here's a video about this problem, how to fix it and how to avoid it in the future. We should have the Youtube BBcode embeds in the forum :)

Or apply a coat of gloss (then matt again). The oil trick is similar, except it will not let things stick later. The video is about lacquers only, acrylic or urethanes are not going to reactivate.
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

Yes you can.

Based on that I was able to enter with Yasbir (who's absolutely a Daylami, as long as his holoprojector works properly ;))

Good luck getting those entries in all! Gutted I missed the slot as I was prioritising my Op:Ice PanO specialists and then terrain making for a game this week.

I'll have to be more disciplined for the next one :ubergeek:

@julipet: loving that duel
@splayedpaintbrush: glad the tut came in handy. Those feathered PanO are looking cool.

Sure, Anyat is fine! Make sure you have a timestamped photo of the model just assembled and/or primed. If there's more than one color app, it's not accepted.

Also, be mindful that you have the remainder of today and tomorrow (if you're in the US) to submit your entry. As soon as Sunday hits for CST, all entries must have been submitted.

I promised you guys a reshoot of my Tres Amigos, but the individual photos, for some obscure reason, come out blurred.
Same distance, same light, same camera settings... and yet it cannot focus right.

The group pic is OK:

Luckily, I didn't fold up my light tent, so I managed to take another pass, and this time (well, third time a charm...) it gave out a passable result:

Alright, guys! I'll consider those final entries, then!

Julipet, since the Wulver isn't allowed in the campaign, would you mind retaking those photos without her? Otherwise, I'll be cropping her out on my own and might not do your miniatures proper justice.

Glad to say you all have been entered. (Basing was not mandatory)

I'll be compiling the entries today and getting that up either Today or Tomorrow.
Please remember to vote on your favorite entries! (While not barred, voting on yourself could be viewed as vain. If someone else were to come and see what other people voted, seeing someone vote for themselves might affect them)

With that said, the head's up for the next campaign's theme:
Bring in the BIG GUNS. Heavy Infantry and TAGs are on the menu!

Please remember to not actually paint anything until after that season has started. That season will start on April 1st. No, it will not be a joke. It just rather unfortunate timing. Hmm... So let's say we start March 31st, instead? Anyone disagree with starting a little earlier?
