Ah, but then you wouldn't be deploying them halfway up field with a sniper rifle, would you? Unless they're super awesome and get sniper rifles as well as some sort of short range weapon that's not a pistol?

New meta? Cover your own deployment zone with a sniper rifle from your opponent's side of the board?!

Yeah, thats exactly what I had in mind. Either try infiltrating deep using the Mines (aka pseudo Fiday), or use the Sniper rifle should you fail. Since the Hawwa don't have a normal rifle or mines without the Sniper, it might be a viable strategy. And I rather not risk to BSG too get stuck in my own Deployment zone either.

And Margot got a LGL, but she is only a Paratrooper.

I wonder if the new camo rule will hurt my Ariadna, being able to surprise some Nomad swine who will hit me on a 16 was helpfull, going from being able to hit them if I roll a 1, to them hitting me with a cumalitive -6, (10) whie I still get stuck needing an 11 is nowhere near as safe.

Granted, if I rolled badly I was getting nailed by return fire anyway, but at least it was a big improvement over probably still being killed despite making the surprise attack. Time will tell, but I suspect low BS models with camo will not do aswell.
In reverse however, it could make the TO guys who know what way to point their guns even more dangerous.

What Nomad unit is hitting you on BS16? Are you in the open and trying to shoot a Gecko?

-I have no qualms about accepting a useful idea merely because it wasn't my own.
-I Want Them Alive if possible. If not? if not, I'll understand.
-Infiltrators have access to the main ship's computer. Shut it down.

There is AD:3 in O:I but they use the rule for failed aggressive infiltration if you fail the PH-roll. There are no scatter rules at all in O:I.

If Scatter on AD3 is a flat 16" distance in a random direction, and (assuming) ad3 features in the icestorm models somewhere.

On the operation:icestorm playmat (which I believe to be 24" by 32"), wouldn't there be significantly more chance of scattering off-table?

Given that there is no point on the playmat at which you are 16" away from every single board edge, kinda makes sense. Especially if you scatter towards a long edge.
(granted a normal 48"x48" table is much less chance)

Nope, but it was confirmed in the BoW videos by Bostria to still be available in the full game.
