You are well on your way to a great table. Have you played on it yet?

Yep. Need one or two more good 2-story buildings in the middle to finish it off.

Yes I can see the need for that and some nice woodland scenic bushes.

My food court/outdoor bazaar is shaping up nicely. All that's left now is paint, plants for the planters, and some cocktail umbrellas for the tables.

Oh man, I'm really digging your food court set up. I'm also really amused at thinking about having a food court as a deployment zone; bunch of black ops dudes just trying to get their samurai burger on, and suddenly a mission.

There was a youtube clip of that a couple years back. Bunch of Americans getting shot at in Astan, and one of the guys gets told, no keep the grill going! Grill was carefully placed against one wall, so the guy tending it was in solid cover.

Am I the only one who hears the immortal words of John Belushi? Y'know the ones ;)

The food court is a nice change of pace from the usual tabletops. I like it. I am wondering about how the tables etc count for cover purposes. The plants will look very good too. I'm always amazed at how they improve a table's appearance. Plus, a few lo-vis zones make for more interesting skirmishes

Keep the grill going. Yes. 1000 times yes :)

Related story, during one of our near constant rocket attacks in Afghanistan, one of my Sergeants was waiting in line for breakfast chow. We'd lucked out with a short order breakfast line, and he intended to order an omelot. Well, rocket attack alarm goes off, everyone, including the civilian cooks, scatters for the bunkers... besides him. He waits for everyone to leave, then saunters around the counter and finishes the omelot that was being cooked. He then packed it up in a to-go box(with hashbrowns, french toast, etc.), walked over to the bunker, and ate it while waiting for the all clear, while everyone stared at him incredulous.

He's one of the coolest damn guys I know. :D

I have those exact umbrellas; did you have any problem getting them to sit stable?

I had to drill the hole in the table wider and deeper to make it work.

I was afraid of that. :(

On the plus side, I'm thinking of considering the umbrellas as Zones of Low Visibility from elevated shooters, so the food court isn't such a sniper's paradise.

Yeah i didn't want to make the Holes to big in case people did not want to use the umbrellas. so I put them there as a "placeholder"

So I know this is a terrain thread, but I wanted to toss out these photos. I've been doing a lot of painting in the past few weeks/months. Now keep in mind that most of the painted minis are just basecoated at this point.

So I backed the Underground Laser's Kickstarter a while back.

Let's just say that I've got my next few evenings and weekends planned out.

I ordered 1 full 4 foot long train, 1 train station, one helicopter pad, one set of arcade games, a bunch of shipping containers for the train, and a control room furniture set.

Once I have everything figured out, I'll do Photo Essays on each piece, similar to what I did for the Shark Mounted Laser Warehouse.

As a fellow Nomad player, very impressed with your Nomad warband you got there! Your food court is looking pretty sharp too! About time for a food fight!

I actually winced a bit when I noticed all the kits open on a table like that =)
