1.Icebreaker. When making a hacking roll, the EVO halves the Biotechnological Shield (BTS) of the target, always rounding up.

Does this mean that if a hack is declared against a target, and the ARO is defensive hacking, the effect of the EVO is lost? Or is it transferred to the BTS of the defending hacker?

That's a good question. I would half the BTS of the initial target (if the attack goes through that is), but I can understand if it is ruled some other way.
