Maghariba upgrade project

by samurai » January 4th, 2013, 8:39 am

I started this project in 2011 and submitted it for Spring Contest 2012 on official Infinity forum. I had only the initial idea of lighting this TAG using LED, but no schemes, no circuit boards, just basic soldering skills. In future I plan to make more professional, more planned out attempt on similar project. Maybe some other TAGs and minis will follow ;)

First of all, lots of drilling and test-fitting the pilot

Next few photos show assembled lower part. Wasn't assembled by me, but a friend of Mine who plays Haggislam, TAG is his. There is a pretty rough seam visible on photos in front but it will be hidden. I put together a base that contains small battery and the on-off switch. Undercarriage is glued to base and some wiring is done.

Almost done, still needs a few touch-ups here and there. Not quite pleased with cockpit canopy, will have to make better one in future.

Finally, the last batch of photos of Maghariba. Not very satisfied with the paint job, I will definitely revisit this idea in future, and I have similar plans for other TAGs and minis, for now I am thinking Jotum and Ajax. But of course with more planning in advance and more sophisticated elektronics work. Thanks for watching and for kind comments ;)
