Uriel's Haqq

by Uriel » August 26th, 2014, 6:02 am

Hi all,

I'm getting some progress in on my Haqq force, and I thought I'd share them with you.
Excuse the shoddy pics, once I finish the bases (and add arms to the two poor Ghulams) I'll get some better shots.

I wanted to go for a Deus Ex feel - Belltower mercs.
haqq1.jpg

Main colours are brown, grey, terracotta. Dominant spot colour is yellow. Detail elements in fluo green (eyes, lights on gloves/headgear) and turquiose (logo's, unit numbers).

The bases will have some of the lichen you see in the background when they're finished. I'm thinking of converting the old HMG Ghulam to a Grenade Launcher (just saw off the barrel).

Next up is probably a Barid and a Ghulam doc'. After that, I want to do some remotes :D

Deux Ex! Yay!

Very fitting choice of colors. Also you should show off your painted Systema terrain in the Terrain or the Systema sections. :)

Very nice!

It's also nice to see someone else follow Savonarola down the path of Fluorescent paints for the glow/OSL effects!

That is a brilliant idea!

A few more macro shots for you guys. Lighting isn't perfect, but still. Incredible how much worse your painting looks when magnified

Pointers are welcome, especially for the non-metallic-metal. This is the first batch of mini's I've tried that on.

After quite some time indeed, another update. Haqq is now up to where I can field a few 200pt lists. I also painted up some PanO from O:I.
overview.jpg

I'm actually quite proud of the Orc troop, I basecoated with an airbrush, with shading from below and zenithal highlighting. The blue didn't quite match with the Fusiliers, so I had to apply a wash in some areas.
orc_sekban.jpg

The Sekban I've had for some time (love the mini's!). So I'm happy to have a painted Haris team (a HRL version is primed).
sekban.jpg

Other additions include Ghulams: hacker, missile launcher, sniper rifle; a Shihab REM; a Hunzakut; and I've got two Nasmats waiting to be based. Next up for Haqq are some Djanbazans, though I think I might continue with PanO for now up to a 200pt list.

Consider that idea very much stolen well done sire!

The more I look at the old HMG model and get ready to make the cut the more I think this is the perfect way of giving life to the old model. His head gear makes him look exactly like a LI who is liaising with a FO to put LGL shots in the right spot.

I see no reason why you shouldn't be proud of that ORC.

Blending is great and the aesthetic is pretty darn cool. Great job!

The ORC is great in general but that barcode on his chest is properly badass. Love it. :D
