Maybe because it lacks eye and hand effects, and wind in the skirt? :v:

Yeah, 45% is a bit low, understimated. :aaa:

It has eye effects! I'm wearing big purple circle lenses. For the wind effect I had sewn wires in the skirt. Worked better than expected. The hands... yeah, my magic is weak... :(

True reasons are:
The headpiece sat too high, the skirt looked strange, the silver linings on the armor weren't standing out enough, the straps on the body part weren't where they should have been as soon as I moved, collar and body suit build a gap, the body suit didn't fit tight, the skirt was that short that you can see the scar on my leg...

Hey, hey... If I were an even more grumpy old man (an a bit more drunk) than I am, I'd say it asks for a theme song, Yashia.
You know which one...

So cheer up. It might be less than stellar, but then again, you can't pull a Chimera-scaled performance every damn time. There are up times, and down times...
They say there will be Heaven and the Fount of Kausar,
That there, there will be pure wine and honey and sugar

To keep things in place, transparent thread to build a structure or maybe skin glue. Or was it hair spray... :high:

The belts, well, it seems the top one was too low at the back and the bottom one too high (and the character is not human). Or bottom one could be linked to the ones coming from the skirt. Or maybe you should adapt it to your body, and go with one single strap to mark the waist, not two. As said about the Bolt, some compromises based in the person may be needed. Improve the general look you project more than sticking to the details. Things work if, only by playing "find the differences" with two pictures, one can say "it's not a copy". :3:

For the hand magic, maybe tiny fans and some fuzzy strips? Same material than pantyhose, or very thin paper, like cigarette one or silk paper (maybe wrong name? the look is correct, very transparent and easy to crumple). Or LEDs hidden in the armor and pointing to the hands. :arghfist: :arghfist:

Maybe the eye effect could be done same way, from inside the helmet. Or with some violet plastic glasses, minium frame, would be enough. Also the glasses could get engravings to reflect light, or just be used to support the LEDs in the air but towards the front. :alert:

The boots and armor are great. If you add more metal, it could be too much shine. If you insist, mix white and silver?

Laugh time.

To get back to Cosplay work I started with something simple from my next project: Oznat.

I'll finish Asura 2.0 and the rework of Syndra first, but I'll do something for the Oznat every now and then if I feel so. :)

So here is the bag that is on her holster belt:

And the holster belts holster:

Oznat again!

Skirt - part 1
Image
1. This is the not yet finished skirt. It's still missing the buckles and the final belt. The gray one is just temporarily. When worn the skirt looks even better, I'll show you when it's complete.
2. This is the rear side. I really love this reptile fabric! It was coincident I got it and I'm so super happy about that! I think it fits perfectly!
3. This is what the interior looks like.
4. Closer look. It maybe doesn't look that impressive, but it took me 13,5 hours to get that far! The panels are all attached separately and neatened by doing application stitching. It took me 3 hours per side to sew on the panels, cut off the spare things and neaten it. The other 4,5 hours were developing the sewing patterns, cutting out the pieces and sewing the cuff. Can you believe it took more than 1000m yarn to neaten the panels?!
5. Detail shot of the fabric. As you can see it's made in a very peculiar way so it's three dimensional! That makes it look very authentic. Also it has a slightly shimmer. Did I already mention that I love this fabric? :D

And part 2 of the skirt:

Image

1.This was the cuff after the pure sewing process...
2.... and after the last details. I washed it with dark brown so it's darker than the inside and looks more used, attached the buckles and replaced the temporary belt with the final one.
3.The skirt is the first finished part of the Oznat!

A bit dark photo, but good otherwise. You should build a simple flash tool.

BTW, someone that does clothes told me one trick is to use cheapest cloth as test. Another trick I would use is ruler, mirror and photo, then maths to figure.

And you still need helping hands, unless you want to use a roller to paint your back. :v:

Awww... I knew I should've expected it (and don't get me wrong, it still looks great), but I was expecting the belt to bend and flow a lot more. Shame that those "extra" lengths are so stiff.

That said, great job with weathering and achieving astounding color matching; Very reminiscent of the studio paint job.

The problem is lack of bouncer (opaque white card or mirror surface) or diffuser (translucent white paper or plastic). You are building full costumes, so building a card, maybe with some folds, should be easy. Some people just put a business card in front. Paper tissu or table tenis ball are OK too, if you want more diffusing than bouncing. No idea what camera you have, but it should be possible for any model.
