Line infantry for which sectorial?

Yu Jing's Invincible Army. They will come in the Starter Set, consisting of only HI units.

I would assume the invincible army, but there was no specification. With the relative newness of the current YJ starter, I wouldnt be surprised if that's the next starter that hits.

But Invincible army doesn't have sectorial right now, and they won't put any sectorial lists until acheron falls, right?! Meaning no sectorials in N3 book. Which could lead to waiting for quite some time till they get sectoria?

But after seeing some concept art for new you ying units, and 27pts for zuyong, they are really tempting as new army!

Agreed. I wouldnt think it'd be hitting anytime soon. But I could also see them putting out the box slightly before the new book because all of those units are going to be available before hand.

I guess they will focus more and more on new units after N3 (and they will be included in N3), already shaping a bit of a core for some of the sectorials. You know, the standard line infantry, MI and HI, with perhaps another bit of extra. That way people can already collect them, starter boxes soon before Acheron.. and BAM! fullblown extra sectorials!

Yeah, it seems like all the new stuff we're seeing is for the new Sectorials, even if those won't be out as part of N3. We've now seen stuff for Kazaks, Tunguska, USAriadna, Invincible Army, EI, etc.

Thanks for posting this stuff. Glad to see CC is going to become a more viable option.

That Magariba guard looks awesome.

I am a little disapointed with the new CA race just being evil Tohaa rather than something else completely new or even Exrah though.

Although they do look pretty awesome and very sith like.

The Umbra Legates is apparently a brand new CA race - not just corrupted Tohaa. ;)

Yes. The Legates are a NEW race of the EI. Not sepsitorized or anything like that. They are genuinely "super nasty", to quote Bostria.

They look similar to Tohaa (or any other humanoid race in Infinity), but carry a lot of distinct traits. Their hands are very claw-like, for one. Their faces are VERY different. It seemed to me in the seminar that they are also taller and more heavily built. They looked like they were as beefy, if not beefier than their Sygmaa brethren (despite the Sygmaas' symbiont armors).

Remember: Tohaa and Sygmaa are different. Bostria was very clear that there is a large divide there when I asked him about it.

To elaborate on what Lord Sessadore was saying.

Seriously the new CA stuff is looking fantastic, and I've gone from 'I'll maybe do Morats' to 'I'm definitely gonna be picking up that CA starter'. I hope it's out sooner rather than later.

So the new race is called Legates? Not Umbra?

Or is it something third?

That model is called 'Umbra Legates' from what I can tell. So it could be Umbra, or something else.

Going off of Bostria, I'm pretty sure the new race is called Legate. There's apparently a video of the seminar you can watch; check it out.

It still could be Moran Massai situation though. Most people call them Morans, but the race are the Massai. And as far as I know, all CA units now have the Alien race in front of there name, or not? Maybe not the Med-Tech though, wouldn't make much sense, would it?

So if the race is 'Legates', they're the Embassadors? Makes sense I guess.

So they EI finally got tired of letting Rasyats ruin all the diplomatic talks by just shooting everyone? Maybe now we can finally have a peaceful surrender>

Shadow ambassador (Babylon 5 flashback). I love it.

Wrong way around. Umbra means shadow and a Legate was either an envoy/messenger/ambassador or a Roman general.

I'm not usually one to go for alien factions in any of my games. I prefer the low-tech underdogs. (Hence Adriana).

But those new CA look SO COOL. I may start building a faction of them.

You know you're addicted to infinity when. . . :v:

Interestingly, all of the EI units (except Avatar, which is Hindi) have so far been Greek: Skiavoros, Charontid, etc. The fluff says the the EI picks the Earth names based on traditional human mythology to explain and intimidate.

The "Umbral Legate" is Latin. Very Latin. I wonder if this indicates a difference in style.

Also, the name is very similar to the Skiavoros. Skia - voros = Shadow Eater, those who destroy the darkness where the EI doesn't rule. Umbral Legate = Shadow Ambassador: those who negotiate with the darkness where the EI doesn't rule, maybe? Interesting.

Would be really weird, as they are named from non-EI perspective. I doubt humans would define themselves as the ignorant/the blind and the EI as the light that can guide them.

The EI models are all named by the EI, with their official "human language" versions transmitted to humans when they first appear.

The meaning of "Skiavoros" is in the fluff here: http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity ... skiavoros/

How the EI names its troops is discussed in the Charontid fluff: http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity ... rontids-2/

Keeping in mind that Roman generals were called Legates, that could be the intended meaning. I.E. some form of leadership regiment (lieutenant options).
