Hmm, a lot of people talking about the scale of the cosplay costume, keep in mind that the miniature is wearing a high tech military made combat suit using future tech mass produced components whereas the cosplayer is wearing foam and plastic. If you were to use some like precision machined and forged thin metal made by machinists and assembly lines you could probably get almost dead on for the model. considering the thicker material and hand made nature I think it's a marvelous fit.
Also it seems to look a lot better in that picture stood beside Carlos, perhaps from the added scale, or seemingly lower photo perspective?

I hate to say it, but I think the boobs are a huge mistake. Don't get me wrong, she's a beautiful woman with a very nice chest, but the armor on top of the boobs, molded to look like boobs, it's just... absurd. She doesn't look like an awesome sci-fi soldier. She just looks... kind of unwieldy.
Maybe I'm a weirdo. As much as I occasionally enjoy wet dream cosplay and art that enhances a lady's feminine assets, I don't think it works in this case. She's clearly worked very hard, and there's a lot about the costume to appreciate. The helmet is awesome. The backpack is really super cool. I love the detail on the grieves and gauntlets, and how she used the cloth and the foam together to capture the texture contrast between the armor and the ballistic cloth.
But the chestplate is really glaringly... weird. At least to me.

Wow, you guys! Isn't this my blog? 3 pages in just over 24 hours is amazing!
I've got a ton of information for you all today (and even a little Data-Sphere sneak peak at what's to come on Saturday. Keep reading to find out! Everyone else, don't spoil it. Ruins the fun!)
So I started my day at 6 am to make it to the convention center by 8 because that's when I thought the doors would open. I was wrong. Doors open for regular convention goers (I wasn't officially a press member and don't have the camera skills of one) at 10 am. I sat in a quickly gathering crowd until 10 am where plenty of people almost died from being crushed by the massive throng of people! Next time, might need to bring hockey or american football gear. I am not a tall or particularly big person.
In any case, I was one of the first of the main group of people to make it to the Corvus Belli booth. Wow. Carlos, Fernando, Angel, and anyone else I didn't know that helped: That booth was looking fine! I'll post some pictures here so you can see it for yourself! Unfortunately, Tabitha wasn't around any of the several times I was at the booth, so none of my pictures include her. In any case, Doremicon was there and really helped out the guys move things along. The queue was crazy! Tons of new players, old players, and players getting back into it with the advent of N3. I don't blame them! Some display boards were there (the ones made by Scenery Planet, I think, can't really remember. Sorry!) and those were wicked! Angel had his most recent projects there, including the bust and two TAG/Bootleg combinations. Wow. I've been a fan of Angel's for several years, so meeting him in person was just... well... If you ever read this Angel, I know I was talking a lot, but I was holding myself back from trying to overcompliment all the work you do! Everything you touch comes out amazing! I would've talked to Carlos at this point, but he certainly had his hands full with trying to take care of all the people surging to the Corvus Belli booth.
Even took a selfie with Carlos! (One of the biggest highlights of my day!)
Some new templates! No idea whether it's Warsenal or Customeeple or whoever. Never got around to asking anyone.
After that, the battlefoam booth was right next door and I dropped by to take a peak at what was in store for Infinity with the new bags. Kip was there and we got to chatting about the new bag. It was super nice! The pockets have been moved around, some pockets added, soft velcro was added for those swanky patches (No more gluing!) and the case just looks nice. I was super tempted to get one, but don't have the space in my luggage. Maybe in my carry-on... But I digress. Enjoy the pictures!
After that, I toured the vendor hall for a bit (waiting for my painting class with Angel) and saw a ton of really cool things. Yet, I got distracted and... was late for the class on painting faces by Angel! Angel, Carlos, if you're reading this: I'm so sorry! I got lost and had to ask for directions several times just to find you! Guys, I'm sure you all know that Angel is an amazing painter. He's also a super swell guy and an amazing teacher! I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking of him as my miniature painting idol! I've learned a ton about painting faces and hope to shock my local meta down in College Station, TX with my new skills! It's actually really simple... if you know what you're doing. Angel explained everything (with the help of our dear friend Bostria/Carlos) very well! The use of color was perfect and he even took the time to come around and tell us each (6 or 7 of us) exactly how we were doing. What was good, what was bad. He even gave us tips on how to fix whatever had gone wrong. If you ever get the chance to attend one of his painting classes... DO IT! You won't regret it. Best $30 I've ever spent for my hobbies. I can say that without a doubt.
Sorry, no pictures of the actual class there. I figured it was important to not have my phone out and actually try to paint that face!

OK, I'll be nice. One change in store is a change to Retreat. You guys know how Morats only retreat at 75% losses? Yeah. Everyone is getting that. Everyone. But where does that leave the Morats, then? With the changes to Loss of Lt. and now this retreat threshold change... Well, all I can say is what Bostria told me: Morats are getting better. How? Well... Guess you and I will just have to wait and see on that one. Here's Carlos writing it out in plain black on white for us:
After that, I couldn't help but go back to the Infinity booth (to keep an eye out for Ms. Lyons as well as revisit those amazing miniatures in Angel's display cases. I might see about interviewing Ms. Lyons on her amazing CosPlay project... Perhaps not. I'm sure she's got enough to deal with after all the nailbiting rush work on her costume. Unfortunately, I missed Tabitha Lyons again! (Spoiler: the next 3 times I visit the Corvus Belli booth, I miss her each time!) Well, after that, I had to do some more rummaging about the vendor hall to grab things for friends and have a general look about the place. Boring boring non-infinity related stuff. (Actually super awesome and if you ever attend GenCon, don't hesitate to check out EVERYTHING. There are a ton of super cool games to try out and really cool stuff to buy.) But if non-infinity related things aren't your thing...
I went to the gaming hall. That... That is a big place. Tables everywhere for almost any game you'd ever see! Banners, TVs, Projectors! Plenty to see and do here, that's for sure! Though, I knew where I was headed: The Infinity WarCors station towards the front far (East? West? Right side of the map) side. Waiting there for me were some really cool guys: Bill (Warsenal), Chris (RedDragon54?52? One of those numbers. I'm much too tired and lazy to go look it up. He won the twitter contest.), Guillermo, and Joe! A few other guys were there, but playing, so I didn't want to interrupt. Chris and I bugged it out after some talking and went to scrounge and scavenge for food. Ended up eating some Philly Cheese steaks at the mall's food court. All-in-all, a 7/10 for taste+price+convenience+time. I'd recommend it, certainly.
After that we got back and I got to talking to a bunch of random passers-by about Infinity. Again, plenty of people saw the booth, the box, and picked 'em up. Did I mention that Warsenal has a few tricks up their sleeve?
There's more, but I'll leave that for tomorrow as my battery was getting pretty low. It's awesome, I swear!
Then I took part in a little thing called "RAICHO INITIATION" run by the man himself, Guillermo. This is just a really super fun event! Had a blast! (Guillermo, I'm sorry for rolling 4 crits... 3 of them in a row... The first two of those in a row being with an explosive fist... I'm so sorry) Our group was pretty well trained, apparently, as not a single Raicho went down to the big bad beasties (with a sprinkle of Preta for flavour). Chris, John, Peter, Brandon(?), Elliot, and myself all partook of this super fun scenario. Guillermo (after 10 or more crits on our side) was about done with special scenarios by the end of it! (things went a lot closer of a fight during playtesting, I'm told)
I was the White one. Chris had the black. The purples each had their respective players' names on them.
And that's all I've got!
