This is the story of my first GenCon:
Just arrived in Indianapolis and met up with a friend who lives in the downtown area. After unloading my luggage at his place, his girlfriend and him offered me a ride back into the main downtown area (saves me a 30 minute walk) and dropped me off right at the Indianapolis Convention center.
Let me first tell you that this is my first GenCon. I came alone. I thought I was prepared. I was NOT prepared. This place is MASSIVE. Several different exhibition halls, each larger than a shipping warehouse! The line to pick up my pass from will call was roughly a mile long (by my best estimates). Luckily enough, I got in line fairly early (5:30 pm) and the queue moved along rather quickly.

The line was a little long...

Ok. Very long. Several hundred feet or longer!
After grabbing my badge, the first thing I set about doing was finding where the Corvus Belli booth was. Didn't find it first. What I did find was the area reserved for the Infinity WarCors group that our dear friend and Infinity maniac, Magno, is to be in charge of. After setting it's location in my mind (I've got two events that'll take place there: A Morat Prison Break, and a team tournament!), I moved one and found the exhibit hall where Corvus Belli was going to be lost in. Though, with the program (and thus map) I had picked up, I knew exactly the best path to reach them first thing in the morning. Sadly, I couldn't get inside the exhibit hall just yet. As much as I'm trying to fill in the "press" role for all you people out in the 'Sphere, I am not a journalist nor vendor and was not allowed access.
I filled up some more time with better acquainting myself to the venue and the food provided by food trucks on Georgia St. Poutine Fries? First time for me. They were pretty good.

Also, it's apparently a thing to build these massive towers made of cards throughout all of GenCon!

I'll check back in with you guys tomorrow after I return in the evening!
