A fantastic starter all around though! CB delivers a great product.

Think of it as him looking around a corner. Then the pose makes sense.

I think I wrote the wrong thing. Maybe the pose makes sense. But it looks weird, and I don't like it. I'm sure others feel differently, and that's fine.

Nice. Great models.
Only the design of the new Alguacils is not really my cup of tea. They look more like 80s scifi than like cool space pirates.

I think it is the wide stance of the Akali that is throwing you off. It almost looks like he is leaning to aim around a corner.

What if the puny human fits inside the giant robot? Certainly he would like that arrangement, as well.

These are all quite lovely. I'm a little meh about the name they gave the new reverend - Reverend Healer? Should have been Reverend Apothecary, or has GW just totally ruined that word for everyone? Reverend Mender? I don't know. Healer is boring.

Other than that, very nice! :D

I'm wondering what the lack of a teardrop template in the new starter means :?

And the new silhouette? Not digging it, at all. I'd actually prefer magic cylinders and some of you know how much I hate those. I hoped for a vague human shape and we got quite defined one... seen from the side. Yeah, totally appropriate when you're facing the opponent. I think we found the new edition's dispersion rule.

Looks more like she's checking out her manicure (in a manly way. Men tend to look at their nails palm facing them with their fingers curled - not quite a fist - women tend to do it palm down, fingers splayed (hacker style).

Which is odd, as she appears to be wearing gloves.

It looks like the Fusilier may not? Or if so, they are fairly low profile.

The Alguacile definitely has some heels going on, but at least they are mildly sensible-ish heels and not stilettos or something... lol

Re: Operation Icestorm

Quick notes so far:

BoW videos over the next week will be discussing new/rewritten mechanics in N3, such as how Camo works. New videos start on Monday.

Apparently IceStorm is being referred to as "the Battle Box."

Terrain is a light card/heavy paper. It will also be sold in separate packs for people needing to fill out tables.
It was designed with the intent that Infinity model boxes (such as starter kits) fit directly inside the buildings to add support.

It is definitely officially N3 rules, for the people who were not sure still.

This box is intended to be everything needed to start learning the NEW Infinity, meaning N3, geared towards newbies.

Icestorm has 2 exclusive miniatures, the Father Knight and the Reverend Healer. Pre-Ordered Icestorm has 3, adding in the CSU SMG briefcase model to the previous two. The other 6 models of each faction will eventually be repacked for a new faction starter box.

Point costs for each starter kit are about equivalent, allowing for an evenly matched game without needing to play with the lists on either side.

Reverend Healer is going to be able to link with Reverend Moiras, to provide a Doctor in their link. Unclear if that was a reference to a sectorial or as the main Nomad faction.

Exclusive Pre Order model is a Merc Corporate Security Unit, with a troop profile. She has a role in the Icestorm scenario. Implied that the briefcase weapon may be Combi stats.

Rule book comes with a punch-out card page of the template, and markers. Also ruler.

The new template actually changes dispersion slightly. 9 and 0 are not the same direction.

Markers:
There is a CSU marker for those who do not pre-order.

The Irregular markers are included, but not used for IceStorm units.

Lt is now marked with a marker. No more invisible Lt apparently.

The Silhouette Marker square, different troop profiles will have a number added to tell which silhouette to use.

Rule Book:
Printed in Spanish and English.

Individual Troop descriptions.

Small section of fluff for the story of the IceStorm campaign.

First mission of IceStorm campaign is just Fusiliers vs. Alguaciles.

Recommended terrain deployment.

Second mission of IceStorm campaign adds the Lt rule. Add Mobile Brigada and ORC (HI options).

Each mission adds new mechanics to help introduce new players to the breadth of the game.

Hush. I'm watching the video now.

EDIT: ARRGH! I DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW PROFESSIONAL THE ARTIST IS. OPEN THE GODDAMN BOX!

EDIT 2: I also do not care about what color the box is going to be. For fuck's sake. Are you doing this on purpose? You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?

EDIT 3: Yes, crack open the battlefield. Please do.

EDIT 4: The terrain looks like it pops together quite quickly, and looks pretty durable as well. It probably wouldn't be hard to cut some foam or plasticard pieces to glue to the inside to make them even tougher.

EDIT 5: The playmat is paper. That's a bit shit. Maybe I can have it laminated?

EDIT 5A: It is pretty, though.

EDIT 6: THE BOXES FIT INSIDE THE BUILDINGS!? THAT'S BRILLIANT!

EDIT 7: Yes. You think the terrain is fabulous. I think the terrain is fabulous. Carlos thinks the terrain is fabulous. SHOW ME THE MINIS!

EDIT 8: Headaed out to dinner. I'll be back to complain more later.

Keisotsu do, and they're not exactly new anymore.

Dang it, why must I be broke when the pre-order special is running?!? I want the CSU!
