The point being simple motor bikes have being used before they will be used again as method of effectively delivering soldiers into battle in hard to reach places in a fast, cheap and expedient manner. Just none of them have ever being or will ever be bloody low rider CHOPPER! The mono bike was a little silly but atleast the engine wouldn't be the first thing to impact a lose rise in the earth. :aaa:

Modern militar bikes all are clearly off-road derived. And old ones were tough as 40s roads weren't perfect everywhere, so "road" bikes of the time weren't what we understand as road today.

Bike as a form of transport is great. Firing your assault rifle while zipping around on a crotch rocket in the middle of a firefight? I don't exactly quantify that as the same experience, from what I saw in Afghanistan.

I'm confused.

They've both got the hubless wheels common to most Infinity wheeled models so far and the front assembly is similar in that there's no forks. Apart from that they're about as similar in approach as a dirt bike and a street racer.

The engine is in a different place, the centre of gravity (and ground clearance) is massively higher on Penny's, the wheels are different sizes, the cowling is totally different, Penny's has a double-sided rear arm etc. etc.

But they have two wheels and the driver is not leaning back. See, same thing. :drunk: :v:

I put it down as advanced weapon targeting systems, cybernetic implants that boost speed and cognitive abilities of the combatants...or as many writers would say 'handwavium'. :-)

When I'm holding both bikes before I started painting them, the differences were negligible to me. However, taking a closer look at pictures of the painted ones, I see what you mean. My bad. I'll also note that I'm not an expert when it comes to motorcycles, and one crotch rocket tends to look the same as the other to me. :3:

Oh I'm fine with Handwavium; Odalisques are one of my favorite models, after all. But when talking about the tactical feasibility of one bike versus the other, Handwavium should be spread all around, not just to a specific body style.
