don't

it is not color it is value
get thous photos and swich them to /grey scale - like i show you before - you will c that orange parts are actualy less contrrasting then grey parts which are actuay quite well (Shadows missing :P on over shoulders gun )
- trick is - make them sane lvl of contrast as armor - so make them look like gems
and evrything will be cool

Swiching to Green helps with nothing if value is same it will just be green but with same dull contrast :)

hope i helped a bit
BTW how much time this took you ?

if you fail at this i may post a grey scale makover :P

Well i spent s good 8 hours on it yesterday, plus somewhere between 2-4 hours (at least) elsewhere....

So probably around 12 odd hours... But i dont really see this guy being 12 hours worth in quality of the paintjob though....

The others need to be quicker!

A busy weekend meant no painting for me. I still keep looking at that Chaksa mini ive painted, and i need to change something... I think i either need to cut the belt feed thing of entirely, or paint it another colour... the orange is just too distracting i think...

Repaint it. That's my thought. Or tone it down with brown or red washes.

Finished the next Chaksa, this one with the HMG. I think im going to make all the shoulder pads the green grey, but im not convinced. I dont think this is my best work, but it will need to do.... I need to get through these guys.

Here's a comparison shot of the 2 painted so far:

The grey/silver belt is much much better!

The glow of the HMG is really nice, looks a bit like a flamthrower, if you don't know the difference though.

I am not so sure about the shoulder pads, but it might look better next to the Tohaa themselves, I can imagine.

Cheers, yeah the orange belt was really bugging me, so i decided to re-do it.

As to the glow, yeah its looks flamer like, but all my Tohaa weapons have the yellow/orange type glow (except viral, which have a green/yellow), so i was just keeping with the same theme.

And I have already started re-painting the shoulder pads to the dark grey... It just didnt look right the more i keep staring at the mini.

The belt is much better now. The grey/green is better for the shoulder pads.

Wow.. that is stunning!

The effect you have achieved on the chest armour plate is remarkable! Like the work on the lens, and the lighting effect on the end of the gun also!

Great stuff

Its been a while since ive had a chance to get some painting done, but finally managed to finish a 3rd Chaksa. Im going to settle for this tabletop quality from here on out, as I do use these all for gaming, and i dont want to get carried away too much with the time spent on a model, when it could well get chipped and whatnot from use.

Your "tabletop quality" is better than most (mine included) people's stuff that they put serious effort in!
