So I finally read Paradiso, and I've got quite a few questions about the individual missions. I figured I'd start a thread and ask the questions one by one in here.
First question...Mission 101 and EVO Repeaters (but also relates to others). In 101 and many others, Hackers or Engineers have to be in base contact with terminal markers and pass WIP checks with various modifiers in order to achieve an objective. It never actually says that the Hacker is performing a "Hacker" roll. In fact, it would seem the opposite, since Repeaters are expressly forbidden and there is no defensive hacking (except for the last objective). So my question is...if you have multiple hackers and an EVO Repeater can you gain a bonus to the WIP roll when trying to achieve an objective? On the mission 101, in specific, if I have an Aragato Hacker is in base contact with a Techno-Device, it takes a short skill and a WIP-6 roll to analyze the device or to recover the info, or a roll of 7 or less. If I have an EVO repeater and a Keisatsu Hacker back in my deployment zone, can I spend another order on support Hacking to give the Aragato a 10 or less (+3 WIP)? The same question goes uploading the transmission and even encrypting it...if the same Aragato tries to upload it, it's again a WIP -6 short skill, or a roll of 7 or less, and this time the opponent can try and defensively hack it. If I first encrypt it with EVO, it's a WIP -3 short skill. But if I have the EVO and a second hacker, can I spend an extra order to make it a WIP 0 roll? Or WIP -3 unencrypted?
