New Nomads weapons?

by BobbaFett » February 5th, 2013, 5:53 pm

Rumour.
Nomads weapons are going to change.

When the new Corregidor Jusrisdictional Command starter pack is released, the new desing of the Nomads weapons will appear.
This means a new redesign, re-sculpt and size of the whole nomad weapon range.
Combi Rifles, Spitfire, Sniper Rifles, HMGs all of them.

This information comes from the spanish forum.

If this is true it will mean a huge change for the whole nomad faction... I mean... the army will not have the same look. Old miniatures and new miniatures will be different...
yes, appart from the fact that they are much better nowadays.

Seems weird that they'd redesign all the weapons after they recently scaled them all down to smaller sizes.

I'm happy with current weapon models, so hopefully they won't make them look bad. :nomad:

I would appreciate if they resize up the new combi rifle, it looks more like a driller than a rifle to me.
Also reducing the hmg and spitfire a little would be nice.

And... if this is true... well.. the Nomad HMG will change for something that maybe someone will be able to hold and shoot with.

Because until now the only troop able to shot with that huge gun was the male Mobile Brigada.

But this skinny bloke is unable to use the HMG

I'm fine with a new design. Doesn't mean I wont field the old stuff though, screw painting all that again! The exception being Intruders, I will buy new ones there. My opponents fear them, that fear needs to be expressed in the sculpt. A fish bowl-bowling ball of doom just isn't scary.

The HMG isnt great as it is, although I do like the spitfire. Combi i'm 50/50 on.

Personally i like the spitfire and the boarding shotgun. The Combi is small and the HMG is HUGE! I am less interested in getting an update on weapons and more interested in getting Iguana's and Geckos, after the corrigador box. I want TAGs that dont look like a cock with arms or a ball with arms.

I thought the Nomad combis were insultingly small too, until I started looking up info for contemporary Bullpup rifles. Those things are TINY.

Like, not much bigger than the forearm of the guy holding them.

Still, since the design of the rifle hasn't changed, just been scaled down, it looks kind of puny and dinky with the little spigot at the end. So I'm interested to see the approach. We've got a wide variety of Boarding Shotguns already: the Moran, the Custodier, the Hellcat. I'm okay if Nomad weapons look a bit heterogeneous.

I'd rather see them go to some of the anime inspirations for these figures to tool them out. Keep it a bit flashy and outlandish, but not grotesque like the 1st-gen HMG.

(Although, the old Intruder made a pretty good showing with that gun:)

My biggest problem with the Nomad HMG is that it looks too much like a PanO combi.

Seems a bit unlikely after the resizing of the Combi so recently.

I'll join the chorus and say that the only one I'd really like to see redesigned is the HMG, although I'm surprised that the best existing HMG pose hasn't been posted!

I have to be honest, both the HMG Intruder and Sin-Eater look like they should have their weapon replaced with a guitar.

The Sin-Eater is posed like an egotistical lead guitarist, foot up on one of the stage speakers - and the Intruder is a bassist, stance spread wide and balanced so he can be doing a hair windmill. Unfortunately, he's forgotten he doesn't have long hair.

We could run with this theme; the Securitate's HMG could be replaced with a keyboard, the Moira can have a microphone, and the Alguacil, given she appears to be inspecting something she's picked out of her nose, is probably worthy of some drum sticks. (Hooray, drummer jokes!)

In this case, HMG is clearly an acronym for Heavy Metal Group.

If I actually had the spare budget, I'd do this.
