"At a minimum, a bit of sober reflection by Battle Foam and its counsel would seem to be in order."

Sums the whole rant thing up quite nicely, I think.

I managed to catch the rant. At first I thought it was funny but then it really got personal and he just kept on going and going :/

Yeah, not very professional. If you're in the digital public like that there are always going to be people criticizing you and saying you suck, but if you have fans and they like what you do then that's what matters!
So, if some of it is constructive criticism then just take a step back and look at the situation; take your time!
Like Sherlock Holmes says, "This must not register on an emotional level."

Well I haven't checked out this thread in awhile. Mainly because I think the point is a mute, the Podcast continues and CB hasn't addressed it in anyway, but also the host did apologize. I am an eternal optimist it would appear. I give every one pretty much one "F" up.

Plus I just won a box set and 2 blisters from them. Guess I will continue to listen....

So did I Romeo didn't make it very hard.

I caught allot of the original thread and the fallout in other places that will not be named personally I think its all a storm in a tea cup.

Typical keyboard warrior BS Romeo may be a bit of a tool but to me he is just your typical AJ (Army Jerk) who cares to much about what the internet thinks about him. The internet is no people; people its just porn, memes and memes about porn don't take it seriously!

Yeah, I kind of accepted he is an unstable individual, and was surprised he did apologize.
See, I also read a lot aboout BTP, and their boss, and it also seems he is a bit unstable (definitely doesn't look very sane on some of their videos). My point is you need to be some sort of crazy to try to earn a living in this fringe market, so no wonder CB partners turn out to be somewhat crazy people. I fear to speculate how wierd is the mysterious MAS owner...

I won't surprise you there - there's a lot of bad press about the current MAS owners floating around the Polish wargaming scene, usually related to their company breakup, employee treatment etc. I'm not telling anything specific, I'm giving them the same chance as I gave Romeo, i.e. I'm assuming they're OK until I see otherwise myself.

MAS or Basicks? Because I caught an interview with MAS boss and it sounded "all fine, we are all love in Poland". So now I wonder if damage control or not. For example it mentioned near all employees stayed with MAS side, not going to Basicks.
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

MAS. Definitely damage control, I haven't met anyone who actively speaks well about MAS (their products are a different matter, the usual opinion is "good but overpriced"). badmouthing people who achieved a runaway success is unfortunately popular in Poland, so I take those opinions with a grain of salt. Still, damning with faint praise.

Agree.
I mean... I know some people who are a little bit into the wargaming/tabletop/local game store business and they are just there because they love WH40K or Warmachine or RPGs or INFINITY.
But I guess no one with half a brain gets into the miniature business looking for money.

Geek BIG money nowadays is in videogames, I mean... have you seen the special edition of Halo 4, or Mists of Pandaria, or Hassassins Creed 3? They are like the most incredible geek stuff boxes ever!

This thing has even a war diary with all the day by day experiences of the soldier who had it. I was amazed by this! I would give a hand for something INFINITY themed like this.

It looks like not only has word of the rant gotten back to the 40k fanbase, but he's at it with a Kick Starter (Wild West Exodus).

Glad people are remembering this sort of stuff. I only recalled the issue with Outrider and Sabol a while back (The Sabol case was hilarious), but man. The logs I have of that thread and the threatening PMs...

It's rather remarkable how hard BF has tried to keep itself distanced from this Wild West Exodus kickstarter.

Hey clown, I'll tell you this one time and one time only. I will find out who you are and we will handle this like men. Not only are you full of shit and causing drama in all kinds of place but you have no fucking clue who I am and what I am capable of doing.

Do me the biggest favor and tell me who you are. Tell me what your name is and what part of the world you live in. I'm guessing you'll continue to hide on forums and trash talk me.

When I find out who you are, and I will we will take care of this. I promise you that. You have pushed this to far and you are now my new hobby.

Tick, tick, tick, your time is coming.

Man, that was a bizarre day on the forums.

Yep, I dropped the thoughts of backing it when I found out ol' scrapper was involved.

Looks like a good product but might have baggage.

It's a pity the entire thing was covered up by the Infinity forums, as well as apparently Dakka. I mean, I forgot about the whole thing until like a week ago, when I re-read this thread. But man, the crazy is continuing.

I just asked a question in the Wild West Exodus rumors thread, that basically went and identified several dummy accounts Romeo set up on Dakka to try and cross-post advertisements to other threads to get attention to his stuff. Only to have the thread silently deleted.

Really, quite the classy way to do business. SILENCE ANYTHING YOU DONT AGREE WITH.

Re: Outlaw Miniatures - WildWestExodus

by Ironclad » March 10th, 2013, 1:08 am

Whilst I am unaware of such happenings, I can honestly say that it is not right to threaten people irrelevant of the situation. I would consider myself a peaceful person now, but there was a time that I wasn't in fact I was totally different, but looking back with older eyes, I can understand why I was the way I was. I am not really going to go into that on a public forum, but I will say that I had a lot of external pressures on me at the time. Sometimes these pressures can boil over. When they do, the way you deal with things is also mostly incorrect. Not because we choose the incorrect path, but because we don't choose a path at all. I have repeated similar passages on here and on other forums, but you can't keep repeating them indefinitely. There comes a point where the person that has received the wrong doing has to forgive. I sometimes think that that is equally as hard as trying to restrain yourself from bursting a gasket. I think as people, we mainly look to others to make things right, not always, but we prefer it. Why? Because I think that we as a people do not have to appear "weak" or "vulnerable" because we want to appear strong and steadfast. What I always wanted to take from the hobby, is a sense of community, where all people congregate together for the purpose of fun (ok perhaps beer and pizza is first on the list, but it didn't sound as epic in my head) :P I can keep stating this several times a day, like today, and people can mention all the wrong doings that may have occurred to them or people that they know. But this will be an ever spinning carousel that no one will benefit from while ever it is spinning. I am not suggesting wipe the slate clean. I am old enough to understand that is somewhat of a cliche. But what I am saying, well asking really, is can we come together as a community and become better from it? I have my views. I don't think I would be sat here at midnight typing away with sore eyes if I didn't have faith in them. But fortunately or unfortunately however you see it, we as people have free will and that allows us the ability to choose how we shape our opinions and carry forward out views. I can not join 2 parties together to have fun and happy times until those parties realise that together they can actually mutually benefit. While there is one party that worries that the other may benefit more, we are going to be playing games thinking we may be playing with a cheat, rather than focusing on the love and passion of our hobby.

Whilst I respect other peoples views, I can honestly say that these are mine, and I hope to retain them with your acceptance.

Hope you all roll 6's forever

Mick

have to say this bit gave me a chuckle..

Then you have the case of Romeo promising a lifetime discount for anyone tattooing Battlefoam on their body. Well one sad individual did such a thing and Romeo denied ever making the offer. So, with email trail in hand the tattooed man got into a haggling argument over the percentage of the discount, with I think a final agreement settling at 30% off.
