Yeah I'm not changing the templates I use. Those MAS templates are $23 for a set.

I'm going to be preordering mine from http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk when they are available. I've had nothing but good service and quick delivery from them plus they always update their stock levels and you don't need to set up an account to order.

I've ordered from them a couple of times and despatch has been a little slow, but I always go for the free slowest delivery so that may be why. I'm actually still waiting for a delivery, but it included the new scout which I don't think is actually out yet? So that may be why.

Also mocked up the nomad half with a corregidor starter, comes in at 300 points ish guessing prices of the unknown profiles. Proxying a heavy weapon in to bring it down to 1 combat group should allow the two to combine pretty nicely.

If you're planning on buying the starter either way, there's really no reason not to pre-order.
Unfortunately, unless I start heavily demo'ing for new players, there's nothing in this box set for me.

I really like the idea of the 'beginner's campaign' though.

Also, if they're only doing 5000 copies, I wonder how soon that will sell out... and if it does will they update it with two different factions? Probably too much work, but you never know. Maybe in a couple of years....

It is 5000 boxes for pre-orders, so with the CSU model. The "regular" box is not limited - it just comes without the CSU, but apart from that has the same content.

I already have two sets of MAS templates. I'm not buying a single new thing. I can't imagine the slight change they made will really matter that much. Maybe I'll print out the new PDF when they release one on clear acetate and somehow put a ring of new numbers on one side of my template. But frankly, these templates are way too expensive and I don't feel like messing them up...

Why buy new templates?

Pick up a sheet of number stickers and put new numbers over the old ones/ in the new spots. Voila, 3rd edition template!

My Warsenal templates are also pretty new. I'm not forking out cash for a new set so soon.

Also, those irregular markers are there for a reason that has something to do with the rules. My wild guess is that something in the rules now makes regular troops become irregular in some circumstances.

Loss of lieutenant would make them irreg, if you don't spend the 2 to recruit?

Didn't see anyone else mention it yet, but there's two things I noticed from the closeups on the rules pages from the BoW vid.

First, positive modifiers are capped at +12. How you might get to +12 I don't know - right now you can only get to +6, right? +3 range, +3 link team? [Speculation] +6 short range for shotties seems more likely with this, and maybe the surprise bonus is +3 for you instead of -3 for opponents? Potential for other special skills which give positive modifiers? [/Speculation]

Second, just some more confirmation on positive BTS. Fusiliers/Aguaciles had BTS 0, ORC and MB each had BTS 3.
