I hope my Gencon shopper is able to pick up an Icestorm in time.

It's a good sign that it is selling so well, but I'll be pretty bummed if I miss out.

I hope they ship some nee stock in to NOVA, at this rate it'll be gone before the new year.

from the instagram pic of the initial shipping I calculated at least 1 batch of 117 O:I boxes, which are 2.34% of the total run.

from the photos of the booth, there's at least twice that number of boxes, if not even more!! which means that at least 7% (but I suspect the final number will be double digit) of the gran total will go at GenCon...amazing!

Is there a way to subscribe and not get emails for each reply?

Getting that many emails and not much info, is really really mean! :(

You're getting one email each time you have visited the site since the last update. So if you're checking it immediately, you'll get a new email the next comment. If you let that email sit for a bit, you don't get any further emails until you check the web page and catch up.

Yojimboooo! F.T.W.! no other way to say it. Fortunately my GenCon buyer snagged a copy of Icestorm already, so I'm set. (where's the smug emoticon?) I do hope they sell out of everything. I think they had at least 250 boxes of icestorm there. Maybe 5000 boxes won't last that long. Pre-Orders are going very well too, according to some sources-- Wayland Games specifically.

Nope. Interruptor will not have anything with him to sell, or so I've heard. One is either quick or hungry here.

Can't find the dossier right now since the main forum is crapping itself.

This model has dual Combi Rifles, and the dossier shows weapon scales for Combi Rifle, Boarding Shotgun, and Spitfire. On a limb, I'd guess that the BS will also be dual-wielded, but the Spitfire will not. Sadly Viral looks unlikely (and these are not Tohaa Viral Combis).

The scale does seem to be a bit off. As in, maybe if she was just a bit taller it'd look fine?

Still, I'm sitting here in my room thinking that maybe one day I'll make a Custodier suit while she's being a Bolt at GenCon right now so I'm far from feeling justified in critisising anything about her costume because.. yeah.. :P

I don't know who your shopper is, or when they got there, but at about 10:00 AM, CB was offering to mail the cosplay figure to people if they wanted to get the GenCon special. Edit: Correction, I got to the booth about 11:00 or so, not 10:00. Darned time zones.

On an unrelated note, I stopped by the booth twice so far and still haven't had a chance to see the cosplay in person.

The Icestorm box is the only really high priority item for me, but it's nice that they were offering that deal for people. It sounds like they really underestimated the demand.

Re: The Scoop on GenCon

The "scale is a bit off" is a good description, so is "top heavy", and also a reminder that what works in miniature scale (for whatever definitions of "works" and "28mm aesthetic") doesn't have to look nice in real size.

The breast plates in the miniature reach the lower and wider collar protection (gorget), as well as looking more "side to side" and less "2/3 coconut", and the abdomen parts float in front of the genitalia, covering the fly of the pants. The wheat pants are mostly visible from back and sides, not front.

Helmet is huge in the costume, probably very thick (I remember pictures of layering to build it) and /or shoulders appear too low. Also boots are a bit short and the thigh parts (cuisse) should reach higher, both things to try to make the bottom extremities appear longer. Yes, sitting could be a problem.

Cosplay really shows off just how disproportionate miniature scale is at ~28mm. What looks 'realistic' sooo isn't!
