CB webshop only? Or FLGS too like other past and future products?

not a fan of the model, so no intention of pre-ordering; however...

GenCon or CB webstore only. This one's an actual exclusive, not an early release.

Yeah, read it now somewhere else, as well as that probably the only exclusive part is the head, and the drop bear if they don't sell it later with other things, but some guess it would be some kind of "mine".

You can get the model pose by combining parts from one Bolt from starter with parts from the box.

I'd really like to see a non-render shot for the face, but am otherwise okay with it; its a pretty cool nod to the cosplayer and company, without being a MUST HAVE UNIQUE or anything.

According to the other thread, she's going to cost 14.95 euros. That's about the same as the 3 bolt blister cost, isn't it? That doesn't seem right.

Both her and Penthesilea will be 14.95EUR/approx $20USD. Seems high, but reasonable, for a limited model (and Penny's on a bike, so she's within reason, too).

I'll pick this up for novelty's sake but that's it; I love the combination of multiple HI backed up by an LI link too much to ever get a ton of mileage out of linkable MI and I doubt a lone bolt will, in the words of the great Carlos, "make the difference" in any of my Neoterra lists.

I would think the fact that Penthesilea is on a bike and costs the same would be a good indicator that the bolt is overpriced. Honestly, I feel like they priced it with the Gencon bundle deal in mind.

Not exactly, the girl parts are there but the male is the bigger twin. Look some posts before and you'll see the female weapon at the proper size.

Because it's not just the female, but the new digital way, it has happened with a handful now, and if they don't straight their act, probably will happen over and over. Old method forced a full resculpt or use of "weapon dollies"... new one gives them the rope to hang themselves easily.

It's ironic that easier just backfires. Or maybe computers aren't the expected easier. :v:

Same here. I like some of the sculpts individually, but as a unit they don't work for me. The GenCon Bolt will make a nice Bounty Hunter though.

Actually, the male model in her photo is a Boarding Shotgun, not a combi rifle. Though, I was mistaken about it just being a weapon swap for the male's arm. It is indeed twintails girl's arm.

Also, I've not built the bolts, but is the combi rifle so different between male and female? From the pictures, they look the same.

The combi rifle held by female bolts is scaled down in size compared to the main one. I expect the female arm attached to it is also skinnier.

Not that I am sure that they did it for this reason, but I know that today you can find rifles and pistols built, or scaled down if you will, for women. Many of them are of the same caliber as the standard version. I dont think it is that farfetched to think that the Pano military might make combi rifles, an ubiquitous weapon, sized for women without reducing its effectiveness.

The new Morats have the same thing. The male and female models are sculpted to different scales, and the weapons are scaled to match the bodies. You don't notice it right away because each model looks fine on its own, but if you hold the guns next to one another you see that they are quite different sizes.

Not a case of 'many'. They ALL use the same caliber ammo**. This means that while a barrel might be shorter, it will not be smaller in diameter. Similarly, the magazine and receiver (parts that handle the ammo) will be the same size. Might have a telescoping stock instead of a fixed stock, for example, but the 'worky bits' are all the same size.

The female bolt's combirifle is smaller in all dimensions. smaller diameter barrel, smaller receiver, smaller magazine. It should have a shorter barrel and the same bulk everywhere else.
Image
Look at the female model on the lower right compared to the male model in the bottom center. Does someone have a completely side-by-side pic like the Morats pic?

**There are some rare exceptions to this rule, but it's not a case of 'make a smaller gun for the girls'. It's a case of 'we want a BIGGER cartridge' to shoot farther. So you have "most" troops in the squad packing M4s, 2 guys packing a grenade launcher under their M4, two guys packing a SAW, one guy packing a missile launcher and one guy packing a 7.62mm M110 (aka Stoner SR25). And of course the Bigdog robomule to carry more food, water and ammo.

Translated into Infinity terms, that's 2 guys packing Spitfires, 2 guys packing combi+LGLs, one guy packing a Mk12 or marksman/sniper rifle, one guy packing a missile launcher, 2 guys packing plain combirifles, and the squad leader packing either a plain combi, a combi+LSG (M26 Masterkey shotgun) or combi AND shotgun (shotgun is to rapidly 'unlock' doors). The 10th member of the squad is a baggagebot.
“I'm curious, son. When has 'This might be a trap' ever stopped you?”
“Stopped? Never. Slowed me down while I load the guns? Every time.”

Female Bolt has the same rifle type as Rao, however it's noticeable it's smaller dimensions or Rao is just a little too big.

I took the image from the unpacks thread and made a composite showing the male and female Bolts Combis. From the cutting mat grid squares you can see that the images are at the same level of zoom, but also that the male Combi is much larger.

The size differential clearly bothers some people but I am of the opinion that it really doesnt matter much. If it makes the models look better than I am all for it. I have seen complaints by some that either a weapon looks to small in the hands of some models or too bulky in others. If you keep the weapons a standard size then you may get that effect. I fear that an attempt to get as much realism in the models may result models not being as attractive. I think a Cutter with a normal size HMG would be absurd. I actually thing that "battle heels" on female models is a far greater offense than different size weapons.

I find it more "interesting" than "offensive", although it can make weapon-swapping conversions even more difficult. Infinity male and female models have long had a larger-than-life size difference, but I do feel like the most recent computer modeled ones have increased the gap.
