Regarding the shipping of Operation: Icestorm

by Koni » September 23rd, 2014, 3:40 pm

Firstly, the Corvus Belli team would like to thank you all for the patience you have demonstrated so far.

We are staying the course for now, and intend to ship out all Operation: Icestorm orders between the mid-September and early October, even though the challenge is proving formidable.

We made every effort to make Operation: Icestorm an appealing product, but your response has been overwhelming. The volume of sales has surpassed all our expectations, and we have had to revise our entire production plan. But fret not! All our models are manufactured in-house, but we have expanded our equipment and staff to accelerate production. We are even working Saturdays to make sure everyone has their Operation: Icestorm box as soon as possible.

Despite our best efforts, our limited output is forcing us to stagger the shipping dates. Purchases will generally be fulfilled in order of reception of payment. But let us assure you that no one will be left without their Operation: Icestorm goodness!

Of all the problems for a business to have, grossly underestimating the popularity of a product is one of the best problems to have!

Haven't pre-ordered, so I'm hoping that the regular release to FLGSes around the world won't be too much delayed?
If only I could've pre-ordered my box there.. ah well. Other choices were made.

I just hope I can get my hands on that awesome CSU. With all the different exclusive offers I don't even know if she's pre-order limited, first 5000 limited, or first-production-cycle limited..

Pre-order limited. But I have seen lots of people trying to get rid of her, so you might get lucky @ Ebay or something like that.

Well that's just great. Guess I'll keep checking Marktplaats like a crazy person.. international shipping is to be avoided if at all possible.

So how is it supposed to work anyway, those Icestorm scenarios with her in them? Use the CSU if you pre-ordered, otherwise tough luck, no full scenario for you unless you have a proxy available? I'm sure there's a way in which this makes sense. I just can't see it.

1. You get a CSU marker in the O:I set. Exactly for the purpose of playing with a non-preorder O:I set.

2. The V.I.P. Executive - Civvie from Dire Foes #4 Flee or Die - is basically the same model as CSU, just in a non-aggressive pose and with her "attache case" not being deployed into a gun.

3. Proxy, proxy, proxy.

"Hey, here's a nice thing! But only a few. And you can't get it locally!"

Guess I'm just not seeing any positive side to enforced scarcity, but that's nothing new..

Well, be glad. There are about 3000 more on the world than CB previously anticipated. XD so that's a good thing. And yeah, it is an exclusive mini. Not really enforcing scarcity, more as a gift for those that make the pre-order.

If I were you, I would contact Cho, see if he has any left.

The CSU is really just a human version of the Security Remote. Any human with a combi rifle is an acceptable proxy.

Acceptable proxies are fine, but those wouldn't have her legs.
And.. well.. those legs.

But today the FLGS got its Icestorm boxes in (nine of them!) and they have the CSU and one box has been reserved for me.
All is well. :D

Sidenote: had some laughs about the ORC troop in that box. Anyone else think his pose is ridiculously suggestive?

Happy to hear you found your CSU! :D
But I'm not sure how the ORC is suggestive.. xD

Same legs than the suggested proxy. Just different pose.

They changed the hairdo too. Or full head.

Suggestive as the CA Unidron Batdroides recently shown? Because if the suggestiveness comes from what I think, then Umbra Legates is even worse. And with some TAGs, it's massive.
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

No TAG as massive as the Iguana.. :D But I do think you do get it.

But the CSU, look at those thighs. Thighs don't look like that when standing upright or with crossed legs. Plus suitcase SMG.
Only a few more days until the box is mine. Oh yes.
