Ran a playtest of the v1.2 rules using an adventure of my own devising last weekend at my FLGS. Doubly interesting as none of the players had any familiarity with the Infinity background, nor the 2d20 system.
In short, the game went very well. The players instantly picked up on the "no good guys" / "morally grey" feel of the setting and generally chose infiltration/deception over direct confrontation where possible. Which is not to say that they didn't have a couple good gun battles...
They like the utility of the Heat/Momentum economy as a GM/Player tool, means of keeping everyone on their toes, and method of presenting new challenges/advancing the story. Even when it meant things weren’t going their way, they really enjoyed the way it kept the story moving.
The players also really liked the fluidity and cinematic aspect of the base 2d20 system. All said it felt solid and was a good match for the setting. By the end of the session, all were asking when the game would be out!
