Vedic Lists

by Groundworks » February 5th, 2016, 10:32 am

Ok so after chatting with Alex in his list thread this was the list I ran last night.

Deva heavy Vedic to try our elite light infantry out a little more.

I have run almost this exact list before. I think I exchanged the Dakini HMG and Yudbot for the FO REM and some change.

It performed fairly well, but you have to watch out for Viral and Shock heavy lists as those will negate a lot of things for you.

I like that list - lots of room for co-ordinated orders using the Devas to steal and cover the midfield with heavy flamers.

I suggest a slight tweak - move the MSR to the proxy (she has better BS anyway) and give yourself a forward-deployed FO with the second Dasyus. This also frees up a few more points for a second yudbot on the sophotect.

But yeah - watch out for shock ammo!

Thanks for the tips!

The coordinated order thing came up and need to do some homework as to how G-Sync works for coordinated orders.

I managed to avoid the shock fairly well in the game played, taking on enhanced REMs with the Dakini but could see it hurting badly if an opponent forces shock onto you in their active turn.

The Proxy switch is interesting and hadn't though of it. I was quite keen to get a boarding shotgun on a B3 13 TO infiltrator (Along with the high WIP assault hacking device) but ill run both ways a few times to test.

Claudius, you think you went for the FO REM over the HMG Dakini for the extra specialist?

The Aleph are coming out again this Thursday so hoping to cook up another concept to trial

Co-ordinated orders for G:Synch units work exactly the same as anyone else - so you can nominate up to 4 units (including their devabots) and have them complete the same set of skills. They can all shoot together but must target the same thing. So you can in fact move 7 models with one order in your list below.

They can also be synchronised for long skills so for example you could move up four Deva sensors in one order and get them into position/cover, then in the next order have them both use the sensor skill to discover all the camo markers and hidden deployment in their ZOCs. Because they are WIP 15+6 in this case, and ignore the cover/CH: camouflage penalties they automatically pass.

Or you could synchronise 4 Deva sensors to all use triangulated fire on a TO unit in cover at BS-3; so that would be 5 shots of combi rifles, of which 3-4 would be normal rolls to hit a TO unit in cover, rolling 9s.

The FO rem is always a good shout because as well as sensor, he adds sat-lock (although you don't have any speculative or guided fire weapons to take the most advantage of it) and he can do triangulated fire against any enemy TO markers.

I would probably stick with the HMG as it is your main source of firepower.

According to the FAQ and a further statement from Hellois regarding the next FAQ update the bit about coordinated orders is wrong.

Units with the skill Ghost:Sync (or Servant) cannot be part of coordinated orders. Soon this will also include controller synced units.

So - sadly - no coordinated devabots.

Wow, I must've missed that - page 7 of the FAQ. Good catch

But you can at least still do the other co-ordinated tricks with the non-G-synch Devas

I tend to like FOs more so for the Flash Pulse than for actual specialist capability.

Occasionally, having the ability to Mark opponents is incredibly useful, as well. Say you're up against Jotum and all you have is a combi-rifle on your FO. Fortunately, you have a Panzerfaust or DEP on some other troop. To really ensure that disposable weapon doesn't just get wasted, Marking the target first with the FO is a great way to ensure you take down the target.
