Some Acontecimento lists for an article I'm working on

by chunky04 » May 24th, 2016, 9:19 am

So I'm basically in love with how Sectorials work in Infinity, and was looking to do a series of articles that goes through each sectorial, look at it from a theoretical perspective at how it differs from the parent Regular army (so which Fire Teams it can take, AVA changes, what is unavailable), to show what sort of gameplay it encourages, then go into a few lists that really look to take advantage of these capabilities.

I've started out with Acontecimento, and would appreciate some feedback on some of these lists.

So the intention of this list is to use the cheap Acontecimento Regulars Fire Team to enable you to take some of the expensive toys available to the Sectorial. In this case, that would be the Knights of Montessa with their Mechanised Deployment, backed up by Nagas and Peacemakers for some strong early forward board control.

This one builds on a Bagh Mari Fire Team with a single combat group list that has every model with Mimetism or better, becoming a real skew list, likely quite hit or miss.

OK next list is another Bagh Mari Core Fire Team for long range shootiness, backed up by an ORC Haris team to take the middle and a couple of Naga backups.

Finally, with most of the rest being fairly compact, this list looks to get some orders out there, with two 9 strong combat groups, a Regular Core team and a Bagh Mari Haris, and some Bulleteers and Nagas to use this orders the Fire Teams don't want. This is the only one thus far that has a Spec Ops in it.

This one is a 400 point list, as I really wanted to abuse the AVA on Guarda de Assaulto but couldn't make it work in 300. The Guarda are all in the same combat group with the intention to be able to use Co-ordinated Orders to get them up the field early, at which point hopefully their awesome stats will see them carry the day.

The other lists I considered building for the article were a list with the Dragoes in it (likely just either a Regular or Bagh Mari Fire Team with it), or an AD list with an EVO Hacker and using the whole 5 AVA on Akalis.

What do you think, is there any iconic Acontecimento list I've missed that simply must be included?

Both lists are interesting, but are not without their problems.

The first one shouldn't be divided in half like that; after you'll take 1-2 casualties in each group you'll start to be order-starved. I'd move Montesa, Pathfinder and one Peacemaker to the first group, leaving Mulebot, Naga FO and second Peacemaker in group 2.

Second group is nice, classic hammer and anvil, in which Bagh-Mari slow enemy down, while Tik and Bulleteers flank and destroy your enemy. Using Coordinated Order to put Bulleteers and Tik in Suppressive Fire is a nice trick to think about. The only thing that list lacks is a hacker, preferably Naga with KHD - your units will have problems with enemy hackers, and there's no way to take them down reliably. I'd drop the Warcor - reluctantly - and upgrade one of the Nagas.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but shouldn't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem deal with itself?

Added some more lists as well. I also have some concern about the Lieutenants I have in some of those, but ASA is not plentiful in SWC free Lieutenant options.

I guess with half that first list starting up the board I won't need much in the way of co-ordinated orders to get stuff up the board, so having them for moving combat group isn't bad.

Agreed on the Hacker in the second list - getting the Tikbalang possessed would be annoying.

None of those lists are built or play the way I play and have found the Shock Army to be most effective.

It boils down to a few points.

Always play into the Midfield the Midfield is key for the Shock Army. Own it, live it, breath it and always occupy it.

Always suppression fire and always in the midfield preferably more 'there; midfield than yours.

Hackers are king in the midfield AVA 2 NAGA's make it into my lists almost everytime and they are some of your best defensive against more than a few killing things.

Don't include Sniffers without Sensors whether its a Remote or a Regular with the skill if you're aying for Sniffer bots bring something to use them with because Camo is not friend in the midfield.

And MSR's don't go in links because your links will soon be in the midfield where a HMG or Spitfire will be better.

Your deployment zone/backfield is where your TR/SAPPER/mooks might hang out but the majority of your force either starts in the midfield or is in the midfield as soon as its your first turn. Occupy the midfield take the objectives and deny your opponent and thats how you can win with the Shock Army.

Whether by design or by chance or rule of cool. I think you will fiend the Shock Army has so many ways of being in the midfield with a lot of mixed profiles so use the shit out of it.

Peace Makers, Knights Montessa, Naga's plus 3 viable link teams and AD why would you NOT be in the midfield?
