Excellent stuff. A thoroughly successful cosplay. As expected, of course. :) You are forbidden from giving yourself less than a 95% satisfaction on this one. Verboten, I say. :cop: You have been a bit too harsh on your work in the past... I do hope you enjoyed the experience.

BTW, are the picture tilts intentional? Do you need help chaging that to straight? No idea which program you use, but probably easy to do.

Ah, I think I got what you meant @Mob of Blondes! Didn't recognize that yet... I have to admit that I don't know if it is intentional or not  I have to ask the photographer :D
But since they're now all posted anyway I guess there is no need to adjust them anymore. :) Thanks nether the less!

Tilt, / vs |. It's normal to rotate and crop pictures after taking them. Gimp's rotate tool has an option that makes it rather easy.

Uh? :curious: You can upload here, not huge images (500KB? 250KB? each), but they work.

Finally I can talk about it! <3
Corvus Belli invited me to be at the Interplanetario 2016 in Vigo, Spain!
I'll be there in my Reverend Healer & Gogo Marlene Cosplays, will give a seminar about working with Thermoplastics and will be in the jury of the Cosplay-Contest!
It's such an honor and I'm already very nervous! >_<

So, will I be meeting one of you there?

Grey primer, grau grundierung? Varnish is the last coats, and as transparent as possible.

Yeah, sorry. In German it's "Lack" for both - the paint and the sealing. I think what I mean here is "car finish"?

So it's Worblas Black Art (black), strengthened with foam, several layers of spray putty (grey) to get that very smooth surface and then car finish (black) for paint and glossyness.
First I applied glossy varnish to protect the paint, but even though it was glossy it made the whole thing less shiny. So I removed the varnish with sanding paper and sprayed on the car finish again.

EDIT:
Duh. I can be so dumb! What you see in the WIP picture above is only the progress up to the spray putty. I didn't post the car finish pic yet... I'm sorry!

English lacquer can be a type, like water or enamel, and the reason it's used along "paint" or "varnish" words. Another name for last coats for car is clear topcoat (duh :haw: English...), instead of varnish. In reality is all a mess, as people copy words by reading paint pot labels ;) , marketing guys reuse words, chemists invent new things that fit nowhere... I just found you can buy a two component primer in a single spray (looks like a grenade, pull from bottom ring to active mix).

Gloss paints need ultra smooth surface to look shiny. Otherwise you get the micro bumps, and it looks satin at best. Not rare to require multiple sand and paint passes, each time with finer grade sanding.

EDIT:
Duh. I can be so dumb! What you see in the WIP picture above is only the progress up to the spray putty. I didn't post the car finish pic yet... I'm sorry!

Don't be nervous. No need for that. Congratulations on the invitation. We will expect a report though, so take photos. But, most importantly, have a great time. :) Have you learned to speak Spanish yet? Es muy fácil. Just remember, Der Tintenfisch =El Pulpo.

Until you hit someone that speaks with accent. (Picture is not just accent :P but example of Galician, and a comic artist that forgot it's 110)

Galician humor

Der Tintenfisch =El Pulpo.

DER KRAKE!!! (Hmmm... sounds like a good name for (tourist) bar...)
Kalmare & Sepien are more typical of other places. The local classic is polbo/pulpo.

Thanks! ^_^ Yeah, I'll try to report as much as I can, won't promise anything though.
I've got a list with important phrases and an app wich translates Spanish. I'm pretty pessimistic to learn Spanish until next week...

And now the picture of that I thought I already posted it and by that caused so much confusion (especially for myself...)

So, it's been a while. With all that Interplanetario going on I've been pretty busy. It really has been a blast and if you ever have the chance to go there I can only recommend to do so! The whole Corvus Belli team is simply aweseome and I made some new friends for sure!

But now let me go back to what you came for: cosplaying!
With the knuckles the holster belt for my Gamora is finished. Next stop: Wig!

No, it's very lightweight :)

Oh, looks very complicated for such an edgy result O_o
I know, it's intended, but it wouldn't be helpful for my purposes...
