Silly me... I should had gone all hacker.

And with that info, yes, the camera has a flash. And even a hotshoe. So she should try building a card with side view shape \_ so she can place it in front of the flash #, like so \_# and get the light to go up and to the sides. If the room has white or at least pale ceiling and walls, she will get a crude lightbox.

If not clear, I can do a sketch. But it just basically a rectangle, with a small cut to fit the flash from front/above, and a bend to raise the front part so it covers the direct light path. Maybe the card can use the hotshoe as better holder. This one just used the hole created when the flash opens but I prefer to not force things into such places.

Diffuser is easier, find a plastic glass or milk bottle (small, as the flash is small) of the white kind, cut a hole in the the bottom and put over flash.

Ok, the pics I saw didn't show the pop-up on the top, I just saw the hot shoe.

Honestly, I think a diffuser would probably be better. Bounces are great if you can watch the sight lines to make sure you don't cause shadows, but that does make them a little more complex.

Okay guys, I really apreciate your help, but I guess for my little update shots it's okay. The real pictures will be done completely different anyway ;)

Aplications on the outter legs are finished, by the way :)

Stubborn
For your little updates all you need is a piece of white card and patafix. ;)

yashia-camera-bouncer.jpg
Simple card bouncer.

Grey is the card edge, green the folds, white the patafix (between card and camera). Bang, prettier pictures so we can droll more. Combine with camera on chair or shelf, trigger by remote or timer... and all around pictures you can use check anything without having to hold the camera.

Sorry, but I'm that way about simple camera things. You can always blur and darken a good photo later.

And others can use the concept if you don't want, it applies to many other compacts, just change the shape a bit to match where the lens and flash are. :P

Is it the desired end effect?
They say there will be Heaven and the Fount of Kausar,
That there, there will be pure wine and honey and sugar
Fill up the wine cup and place it in my hand
(For) ready cash is better than a thousand credits.

I expected the general complexion to be more chalky white.

Still, it might be your licentia poetica to keep more to natural skin tone :)

The secret one? Hard to have an opinion then.

Do the lines not align top-bottom?

@ Mob of Blondes:
Yeah, the secret one. I know it's crappy. Wish I was able to show you :(

But leg straps are finished:

Image

First picture is the unpainted nuckle, second one painted with only one side weathered and the third one is the finished piece.
I used a weathering method for armor parts that is pretty similar to washes. :)

And I made that camera thingy. Is it right like this?

Think it didn't change much, though... Guess it's the way of taking pictures more than the light issue.

Yeah, like that... are your walls and ceiling very dark? Do you take the pictures with a window behind? Trying to guess what goes in your "studio". :curious: The principle behind this card thing is that the room becomes a lightbox (flash -> card -> walls -> item), so the whiter, the better, but if you have a stronger light behind you... the principle of photography is that light goes from source(s) to important subject to camera.

Try taking pictures with the window to your back? Preferably with a very thin white shade.

That would diffuse the natural sunlight coming in very well.

Selfie with window behind one self would be bad, it should be behind the camera (or to the side).

I'm not sure if it's intentional, but that top rail of the gun seems... lackadaisical. Is the "gripping" meant to be so loose?

The shoulder pads turned out very well. I'm curious about the blue tape (?) around your knuckles.

And a strange thought... Have you ever looked into converting Hockey shoulder pads or American Football shoulder pads?

Good progress.

About your face... is the sketch like that? I mean, you look a bit too much like a porcelain doll (pink cheeks, awww :3: ), and not like a synthetic killer. Wouldn't a darker/purpleisher look shadow be more menacing?

@ Claudius Sol:
The rifle is the one from version 1.0. Didn't change a thing here because I was pretty satisfied with that. But you are right the gripping on the top is a bit irregular because it was difficult to get it accurate. I couldn't remove it without distroying that part, so I left it as it is.

@ Redharvest:
To be honest, I don't know what that buckle-shells should be, neither. I just tried to achieve the looks of the concept as close as I could ;)
Well, I don't think that that would work. Infinitys shapes are very didtinct and modifying them would be just as much work as doing them self but more expensive.

@ Mob of Blondes:
Again I have to give you that unsatisfying answer: I tried to come as close to the concept as possible... :?

But I really can understand your objections! I have them myself. That's the reason why I doubt I'll ever reach version 2.0 (see official forum) and why I made that shooting of 1.5: To have at least something... :(

I wonder what it would look like if you used a very light concealer. I think one of the issues is that the Asura's skin tone is flatter. By using a concealer (or otherwise thicker base) you might be able to remove some of your skins natural shading (for example the rosy cheeks).
