Tabletop's been something I've been trying to get into for literally a decade.
Introduced to Infinity through a friend who had a half-finished Pano starter kit laying around. Nice aesthetic, great looking models, easily available rules and I can get a playable force going without slaving away for years painting a hundred models and/or selling my kidney? I'm in.
I'm pretty much starting from scratch here, trying to make my purchases and painting decisions as informed as possible. Looking to build up a force of either:
Yu Jing - I can get past the, well, "P.F. Chang"-ness of the fluff surrounding this faction (even as second-gen ethnic chinese with gradeschool level mandarin, some of the stuff makes me facepalm), with the fact that imo it's got the coolest looking minis out of any tabletop system I've seen, and lots of heavy infantry is an appealing playstyle.
Nomads - Nice backstory, very relatable without being "[INSERT_ETHNICITY] IN SPAAACE." Hacking seems interesting, and I really like the look of their TAGs.
End of long-winded intro. I'll be poking around, mostly lurking and making a few posts here or there. If anyone's aware of any good places in DC/Northern Virginia to get my game on, that'd be a real motivation to get painting.
