Yu-Jing aquatic world?

Hi folks,

Bit of a background query. Does anyone know of any worlds under Yu-Jing control that could be classed as 'aquatic' (i.e. very high proportion of surface water, rather than landmasses, or at least which has very sizable oceans?)

For my next force I'm thinking of doing a Yu-Jing 'naval unit' i.e. one which specialises in aquatic operations.* I quite like the idea of coming up with some background for the new force I'm making just as part of the experience, and was hoping there was something in the background that shows they have control of such a world.

Very grateful if anyone can think of anything appropriate!

* Yes that does mean painting some Yu-Jing in blue , but hopefully it is different enough from the standard Pan O colour scheme.

Judging by the pictures in N3 Corebook, both Shentag and Yutang have sizeable oceans. Svalarheima certainly has. So does Paradiso. And Earth. Every planet where YJ holds significant footholds.

...and Ariadna. For Heavens' sake, even Bouraq has a lot of surface water.

You don't need to have an ocean planet to need a "wet navy" and troops trained in naval / amphibious operations.

(Can I ask where you got this info? Just from the N3 source book?)

There were maps in the books. I don't remember exactly what and where in the 1ed/2ed and N3 books it was. I guess Paradiso was in C:P.
And we don't need an actual map of Earth in the books to realize the amount of water on that one, do we?

Considering that we're on about year 25 of a Solar Minimum, we could well be on our way to another ice age despite the greenhouse gas production. Technically speaking, we're still in an interglacial period, we haven't actually warmed back up to a non-Ice Age yet. For that matter, 100 years ago, there were trench lines up in the Alps that were later covered by glaciers. 150 years ago, the Thames river in London froze 3 feet thick in winter. 500 years ago, northern Germany was warm enough to grow grapes. 1000 years ago there were forests where there were glaciers 10 years ago.

Climate changes, even without human intervention. It's much harder than you'd think to control for human activities in the studies and models.

The majorly water planet in the setting is Varuna, but that's owned by PanO.

Both Yutang and Shentang have major oceans. Your best bet for a naval unit would be something from a Korean or Japanese tradition, IMO. The Chinese have virtually no naval tradition, other than small boats on the rivers. They're working hard on building a naval tradition, but they're going to kill a lot of sailors in the process.
