Haqq chickenbots aren't as absurd as we thought!

Oregon State University students have been working on a 2-legged chickenbot for DARPA dollars, seems it's much more energy-efficient than BigDog or Spot. 3x more energy efficient!

Stays upright when smacked with dodgeballs, even. I think the frame in the background is the support for the external power cable, to keep the beast from getting dragged off-balance by it's power cord.

Haqq bots for comparison:

“I'm curious, son. When has 'This might be a trap' ever stopped you?”
“Stopped? Never. Slowed me down while I load the guns? Every time.”

In the video, it seems to be a safety cable with loop splice, you can see a carabiner too. Also, if there is external power, I would put the emergency stop button somewhere else, like the frame, instead of the robot which, if out of control, will be hard to hit if not plain dangerous (robot falls into button and starts kicking from the ground). The four leg ones can correct from serious pushes alreadt. But if more energy efficient (as in requiring less per unit of weight, not being just lighter), good.

If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?
