Laser Cut Card Review

***Laser Cut Card Future-Hub #1 - The Shop Review***

So I was sent one of these buildings to check out by Neal at Laser Cut Card (http://www.lasercutcard.co.za), and I must admit before i received it, I was a little hesitant about the idea of 1mm card for Infinity terrain. I can honestly say now after having the chance to check it out in person, and seeing how it goes together, I think there is a good place on the table for these card buildings. It would be perfect for those tables wanting a more high-tech city scape feel to them!

- Packaging (4/5)
It came flat packed in a padded envelope, and felt safe. It was laser cut on an A4 sheet with some little sections left uncut to hold the pieces on the "sprue". Being card, they were easy to cut through with a hobby knife. The only reason I marked it down was because I have a personal hatred of cutting stuff off the sprue as its extra work. I get why its left on though for the card, to keep it all flat and safe for transport.

- Ease of Construction (5/5)
Very easy to follow instructions, and was simple to put together. I used superglue to join things, and it worked well.

- Detail (4/5)
There are two layers of detail present, which works well, and looks nice. The awnings and signs are removable to allow for safer storage also. All the walls have some sort of detailing of some kind on them, but there are also some blank spaces to allow you to customise the look with graffiti, posters/decals, etc.

- Structural Integrity (4/5)
Ill be honest straight up, that its not quite as rigid as MDF. There are however two layers of 1mm card that are glued together to give the detail, but this also makes it much stronger than you would expect, and would be comparable to MDF in terms of impact strength. Even the awnings come up pretty solid too. My only recommendation would be to base the building onto some 3mm MDF just to give it that bit more rigidity. Once based, i would rate it a 5/5.
The building floors nest within each other, and the signs also fit inside too, allowing for easy storage and transport.

- Price (5/5)
For the level of detail you get, and the size of the building, the cost is really good. These buildings fill a niche that's missing in the market at the moment of cheap terrain with good detail.

CONCLUSION
There is an awful lot of terrain appearing on the market these days, but a lot of it is all very similar with square/rectangular shapes, so it was good to see something new in design. The price is great, the detail is good, and the strength is there! I'm looking forward to more of the Laser Cut Card Terrain

Does seem to fill a nice, very nice. Thanks for the review.

Is the inside of the building available to play in, or is it sealed shut?

Nice review! Beat me to it... although I've been taking way too long to finish the building! I pretty much agree with the review, although the 45 degree bend is a major weak point and problem for assembly. I fixed mine up with tape around the back and applied glue generously and seems OK now. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong... but I'm also used to the ridiculous strength of LCC's stuff. You could play badminton all day long with the shipping crates...

@ Arachas
You could create a playable interior but the roof is joined to the walls (which is part of the reason why it's so strong). You could cut out the barricaded windows and doors and be able to access the building that way. Add a base with display mannequins and you're good to go! However, strength and portability would be sacrificed.
