Have you looked at the other liquid resin machines?

I haven't, and getting any 3d printer is on long-term hold until I get a damn JOB!!!

Are there higher-definition machines that aren't orders of magnitude more expensive?

Tried Navy? ;)

No-name machines are in the same price range than Form1. They just got less PR hype, mostly whatever they got from Kickstarter or 3D blogs, specially because they are based in the old boring "retro projector" concept. Oh, yeah, and they are not from MIT and waited for the other patents to expire with no lawyer clusterfuck at all, so yeah, a lot less hype. Intead of lasers scanning, they expose one layer at a time. But that is the same tech used in the professional machines, like the ones used for CB, Last Saga, etc models (the peach orange masters).

List of 3d printers, just ignore those that are "plastic as cake frosting" types. Same site, thread with experiences with the B9creator. Pencil for scale. :aaa:

Holy CRAP!!!

OK, so I need ~$4k to get a B9Creator. Resolution is much better than the Form1.

This was the part I didn't know about. Suggestion was to re-enlist.

Yeah, told you so, Form1 has a lot of hype going. And remember B9 is not the only one, check a bigger list of printers (the SLA or DLP ones are the resin pool type). There are a handful of resin suppliers too, with different formulas, so they can't go greedy with prices if you pick a generic. It could be trickier to fine tune, of course.

Re: The Warmill Thread - RUM outpost

New products released on the webstore under the RUM Outpost heading.

First we have the RUM Landers, unashamedly boxy these guys have a pretty unique multi-level interior and plenty of places on the roofs to hide snipers, if you're that way inclined.

Next we have the QDSC, the Quick Deploy Security Compound. This set features lots of flexibility with removable walkways and fence panels, collapsible gatehouses with sliding gates, blockhouses that can be enclosed pillboxes or switched to 2-level towers and connectors that can be scatter terrain in their own right!

And finally, only 2 years after they were originally designed (they first showed up in the pictures for the MOD.CO.N corridors that started this thread!), the SIR pallets.

And for a little glimpse at what's upcoming, here's a pic of us at Warfare chatting to the 4ground guys where you can see me waving our new city block prototype around. There's no glue in it at all...

I like those pillbox/tower designs for the compound. Pretty neat. Looks like half of it just flips upwards until it rests on the other half?

The landers look very interesting, as well!

Last I looked, you guys had fairly high shipping for the US. Is there any way to get that lower?

Thanks and looking good!

Yep that's correct, the pillbox is the best bit :D If it's in its closed form there's an access ramp, if you open it up the ramp closes to be armour but can also be flipped up for heavy weapons if you're using it for 40K or anything that has tripods.

Shipping is a cost that's never going to go away, but we do subsidize it so the cost you pay is lower than the cost we pay. We have started using a different shipping option so there may be space to revisit the exact costs in the new year, and we will look at a 'spend X and get free shipping' option.

I hope that works out - you folks have some brilliant terrain and I'd love to see more of it in Canada.

I appreciate the response! Timely, too!

Good to hear that such a possibility will exist in the future. I am fairly empathetic to the shipping costs, as well. It costs me an arm and a leg to ship anything of note to my family in Asia. I usually end up just making space in carry-on for when I fly over.

Hah yeah our shipping is basically UK, then Europe, then everywhere else. We learned the hard way there's a bit of a difference between the shipping to the US and to Hong Kong!

I'll also add that I've just adjusted the postage rates for ROW, orders over 3kg (about £200) now get worldwide courier shipping absolutely free.

Now I'm going to paint my MO so I can actually play on this stuff...

Is there an elevator to attach to the cashtack habs? All those doors stacked up seems like a cool opportunity

I tried that configuration of with the new buildings but the top one is hell of precarious. Does it need the signage to be stable?

Yeah you need to use either the adboard signs or some block legs as the demi-block is a smidge under half the length of the big block. One expansion pack of either will provide plenty.
