@michel & jherazob: good point! Maybe we need a special rule for the unit occupying the shop and "playing" on the mini Infinity table? e.g. gets +3 on WIP rolls ;)

Here are finished 6 Control rooms, all rooms came out slightly different (decorations, detailing), but shares the same wall inserts system:

Here is a large size Control complex formed with all 6 Control rooms, 1 standard room (in the middle, LoF blocker) and a few half walls:

Your support is very encouraging guys.

Awesome work mate! I'd be happy to have a table like that.

Quick question, how much would you expect a set-up like the one below would cost? It's pretty much exactly what I'm after in a table.

I like this expansion of inserts. Very akin to Warsen.al's facade system.

Are you going to do similar wide inserts for the taller hanger building?

Today we battle tested the new and improved stair and catwalk system.
Here are some snapshots of the action and the surroundings:

The table was densely packed with buildings , crates and stairways.
Image

The Metros link team was spread over two levels, although, after the member on top was machinegunned down by an armoured monkey, nobody dared to climb the stairs.
Image

Scattered furniture livened up the otherwise empty room. The monkey leader took his rightful place at the director's table.
Image

The catwalks arranged into a partial second floor.
Image

Better shot of the double height stairs and the armory.
Image

The lone Metroess eliminated members of the Morat Engineer Division. Sadly the Noctifer was still lurking in the corner...
Image

After the battle I have started planning on building modular roofs for the buildings. The catwalks are working as intended, providing easier multi-level battles and interesting fire lanes. And a mat to put the terrain on would be nice. The brown field is pretty dull...

Looks great!

If I had to comment, I think the stairs are very nice. I'm not sure I dig the actual catwalks, though. They seem very simple and a little plain when compared to the rest of the project. That "external" stairwell looks very nice.

The inclusion of roofs seems counter-intuitive to me. I think that would just hinder gameplay and decrease the visual appeal of the kits. Just my opinion on that, though.

A mat of some sort would be a welcome addition, though might I suggest you leave very little hints of layout patterns, if any. I don't use the MAS and other such mats because they, visually, restrict placement of terrain.

@Claudius Sol: The roofs add another dimension for terrain building. Sure, they might get in the way sometimes, but they are optional and help make multi-leveled tables. Here is an example of such a table:

Dust Tactics tiles are used for rooftops, but in the top left you can see my first modular roof prototype:

And the perspective from the second floor makes for more tactical decision making:

god damnit the more I see this the more I want it!!!
I take it the original design was to incorporate the dust tiles? what are they 30cmx30cm? How stable is the card top is you were to put say a Jotumn on top (or another heavy tag?)

Seeing the roofs on there has convinced me that having them wouldn't be bad. Though, perhaps have them as an option instead of de-facto? Depending on the feel of the board, you might not want them.

Looking good, either way.

Re: Noises in the Forge

@dulydude: The original design was 30cmx30cm buildings so that they would take up one square foot of space. Only later we discovered that the 28cmx28cm Dust tiles fit perfectly inside. When supported by wall-mounted stoppers they provide a sturdy base. They are nice looking and all, but eventually the tiles will be replaced by more flexible laser-cut HDF roofs.

As for the stability, here we put the heaviest metal models laying around (Corvus Belli Anaconda, Corgi M3 Halftrack, Helldorado Kartikeya and Zaaxan) and no major deformation happened:
Image

@Claudius Sol: Completely agree with leaving the roofs as an option. They are unnecessary when building a more labyrinth-like tables. On the other hand, the roof parts themselves have more uses, like putting them separately on the surface and making a nice inch high platform, behind which S2 sized units can take cover.

I think the roofs are a great idea. Because of the high cost of your product + postage if someone like myself want to invest in a tables worth of labyrinth type terrain it just isn't feasible. However if you buy a little at a time maybe break that table up into 3 or 4 purchases than the cost hurts less. The roofs make even a few sets a good addition to some existing terrain or allows you to fill the table out with cheaper home made or locally sourced material and scatter.

So yeah I would definitely put them up as an option even if not the default one.

Thanks Everyone for your warm support!

Ain't easy way to eliminate snipers on the fifth floor roof!

So we built a stackable stairwell. Here it is standing outside of a five storey building:

Stairwell can be placed inside of the building as well:

@Claudius Sol: If I understood correctly, you asked how this would look:
Image

Image

Here are the semi-finished walkways, intended to fit into a single room module along the wall (the ladder holes can be closed with hatches):
Image

And here you can see the table used for a battle of our local mini-league with the rooftops and catwalks in action:
Image

The battles showed the power of coordinated suppresive fire orders, but there were plenty of blind spots and outranging opportunities to punish that tactic:

Looks awesome!

I'd suggest more handrails/guardrails around the stairs, included as part of the stairs kit. and for the interior catwalks.

And the more stuff you post, the more tempting I find your "hangar"/large&tall garage unit with a pile of details...

That is exactly what I was asking, Forge! Thanks!

It looks quite acceptable... hmmm...

You mentioned how the catwalks makes it so a smaller building will fit inside that? So... If you had a large building with catwalks lining the interior, you could put a small building right inside the catwalks? That's a rather nifty idea... Could even put a roof over the small building and have a sort of multi-tiered building. Very nice kit, you've got there.

Gotta say your terrain is absolutely stunning but the price of it puts it beyond most people. As mentioned selling the kit non painted would get you more interest and buyers.

Good luck with your excellent work :)

@Sabreforce: Welcome to our little sandbox! Glad you like it here!
As for the prices, you are certainly not the first one to point out their enormity. Sadly, selling the modules at their current level of detail would bring little or no profit due to production costs. But making a less decorated version of everything might be the solution or at least a possibility to offer. And feel free to PM me if you are interested in any bundle/special offers.

And now for another scenery project: pipe stacks! The stack frame is cut from HDF, while the pipes are 0.5" heating/plumbing pipes. The pipes are separate pieces as of now and can be rearranged. Designed to be stacked on top of each other and to let models climb them:
Image

Currently primed in rust color, soon to be salted and painted in industrial tones (the gray frame is the second iteration):
