PanOwner's plog.

by PanOwner » August 3rd, 2015, 9:31 am

Hi there everyone. I've decided to start a new plog as I post from my phone and I can't access the official forums from my phone easily anymore since the update.
I won't upload a ton of old pics so I'll start from scratch and you may catch a glimpse or two of some of my older stuff.

I've been mainly painting my terrain recently as my NCA is only a handful of models from completion. Next year I will start to mix it up with vanilla and USAriadna. Hope you enjoy my stuff and feel free to ask as many questions as you like about them.

That's all the painted stuff so far. They have internals done as well which I'll add pics of later.

She's got a JSA shoulder guard, but she's actually the Authorized Bounty Hunter model on bike.

Got one of AWS helicopter things on a piece of Perspex. It will pin onto a planning pad I have and be good LoS blockage to stop sniper domination.

Well I got slammed at the tourney. Won the first game but drubbed in the last two. I think I'll switch up to vanilla for the next one so I've finally finished the last of my icestorm models. And finished my peacemaker after remembering I had some random 55mm bases buried in a drawer. Here is a WIP of the peacemaker and the finished Nisse. Can't wait for the HMG version.

With the change to vanilla I need to finish 3 models to be fully painted but I think this will side track me. I have a small landing pad for my table and an AWS copter thing that I have on a Perspex rod that sits above the pad. But it always looked a little small or scrawny to me.

So my kids are getting a little older and some of their toys inevitably stop being played with, so i patched up and glued tight one of their avenger toys after seeing another guy on the forums do the same thing with his for a larger free standing piece of terrain.

Got most of the drop ship done. Still needs metallics, detailing and some weathering but most of the donkey work is done and it's ready for my table.

Thanks mate. I cut my teeth on military models before mini wargaming. Subtle realism I can do. Pushing contrast on a mini.....that is a pain in the ass I am yet to be able to overcome.

Lovely stuff. Did you use a pin wash of some sort for the panel lines?

Good paint job.

Maybe one (or more) paper strip(s)/panel(s) could had made the cabin work more in scale (at least splitting the main glass in front and top), clearly marking it has a crew of 4 or so (yes, I see you painted two side panels solid already). But even without, the plane seems to be a acceptable match, based in this picture.

Yes I did mate. Took ages glossing the bloody thing too. Then used thinned black oil paint for the actual pin wash.

That's a good idea but as its a scenery piece I won't go too mad on the detailing. Just to make the canopy more interesting though I will get the hex stencils out and make it little more interesting. Because we know that hexes equals uber futuristic. Lol.

Best looking camo I've seen in a while. They usually tend to just look noisy and hide the detail in the model, but you managed to keep the details visible despite the camo, gj.

Camo seems to be non noisy (non camo?) because it's partial in different senses. For example, straps and trims are single color. And many other parts are non camo at all. So it ends being just some parts of the models, and well delimited (even if the next part is also camo, the flat zone in between remarks both parts). Interesting trick.

Really cool work dude, those dogs look badass. I like how you made the devil dog look a bit "human" in the face and hands, to differentiate it form the pure antipode.
