And the nature of Bran do Castro was Irrepressible!

by IJW Wartrader » February 13th, 2013, 2:03 pm

After a long time of liking the model, I finally got hold of Bran do Castro, The Triple-Zero.

Being a child of the Seventies and Eighties, my immediate association is Monkey!

Parts laid out:

Parts cleaned up, note the pin in the bottom of the hatch, there's way too much leverage on this joint to trust it without. The hole broke through the back side of the piece but was angled so that it'll be hidden at the back. Also, note the recurled tail:

Assembled! I made sure to position the tail so that it could be glued to the thigh/shorts as well as at the end to give a much stronger connection. It was also carefully positioned to fit the overall pose while being safely tucked under the front arm, I'm way too paranoid about it snapping off to put it anywhere that sticks out!

I'd originally planned some Milliput work to add a neckerchief and headband to match the Seventies TV show more closely but I'm not sure my sculpting skills are up to the job. :(

The paint scheme will definitely be the same red/yellow/grey colours though. :)

P.S. I tried him out on the tabletop last night, Camo + Superior Infiltration + Super Jump + Climbing Plus is simply awesome.

Hey IJW. :) Great project, lovely miniature too. I think I never really took a closer look at the fella so I never noticed how quite dynamic his pose is. Really good stuff (and something the Infinity models in general are great at. Or were, not sure.). Really looking forward to seeing how this proceeds. :)

IJW, Bran is great. I just wish he worked for Corregidor instead, since I rarely play Vanilla Nomads or Bakunin.

I've had him single-handedly take out TAGs thanks to his EM weapon and high mobility.
In the hexagonal future, there is only war.

Bran mini is really impressive, the quality of the textures on his hair, tail & cheeks is astonishing, also the smiley in his left comlog made me laugh!

Great mini and a great write up!

He's one of my favorite models, and I haven't ever gotten him cause I have waited for my painting sklills to catch up to where I would like them to be.
STOP shooting the painted ones!

That's a great looking miniature. I understand your fears about the tail. The swords broke on some of my JSA figures its a real bummer. I can't wait to see you paint him up.
