My camera probably does this, although it's convinced that it's like 1980 and I can't be bothered to correct the settings. Anyway I'll probably be entering a Paracommando FO, military greens are fun to paint so I should even finish my entry this season!

That Knight from the last one is still not finished.

I'll do an interventor and her fast panda. Can post the pic later today.

It's perfectly fine if the miniature is already primed. Paint is fine up through Zenith priming stages, if you so cared.

I cannot accept it if there is paint besides primer on it.

I can't quite tell what these models are. Could you provide some more details on this? Besides that, it's all good.

I'm not sure if I can finish one of these on time, but I at least I have entered ;)
I will only file 1 character in the end.

These are a FO Wu Ming with boarding Shotgun, a FO Guilang with combi Rifle and a Assault Hacker Imperial Agent Crane Rank with Multi Rifle.
All already primed.

Another day, another WIP. Kirpal Singh has a face.
Image
No eyes though. I drank too much iced tea to be painting eyes. I'll need to brew up some decaf for that :)
a close -up? Sure

Of course now you can see I need to tidy up his right eyebrow. And what happens when you paint during the summer under bright bright lights. ( Paint dries really quickly, even when properly thinned.) Ah well

The paint layers on the armor look a bit rough. If you wanted to even that out a bit, you could try a wash to smooth it over, though you might have to redo some of the highlights.

Properly thinned... but properly retarded? Also I doubt a wash is going to smooth the surface (it could even pool and mark the texture more)... maybe gloss varnish or equivalent (floor polish)?
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

My base toppers arrived from Anvil Industries, and I spent some time going over them to check for flash, model lines, etc. Very little time spent on this step. I'm still waiting on some sculpting tools to arrive (lesson - order from China at the beginning of the season).

Image

Glued the topper to the base, and cut the metal thingy off of the right foot.

Image

[Picture missing] Pin a rod into the right foot. The rod goes up into the ankle.

Hole drilled in the base, to help 'locate' the model when each are finished being painted (I'm going to paint the base and model separately, and then glue them together at the end).

Image

Oops.

Image

Add an extra bit of scenery for that left foot to rest on.

Image

Glue the backpack on. Rinse and repeat.

I was slack about posting WIPs in the last campaign so I'll endeavour to share more pics this time around.

Got to spend a couple of hours on Cordelia today, so here she is:

Image

She's at a scruffy stage and I'm really just testing out how the colour scheme is working. I'm not deviating too far from the studio paintjob but want to make her a bit more emo - hence the faded black t-shirt and domino eye make-up. Probably do some freehand logo on the t-shirt too.

Nice work, Max.

I'm slouching this time, too. Finally got my first article for the Q3 competition up over at http://kungfusedcreations.blogspot.de/2015/07/data-sphere-painting-competititon-q3.html.

Here's some WIP shots of Machaon:
Image
Airbrushed

Blacklined

Highlighted.

On a further note: That mini is tiny - I mean, really tiny. Machaon seems to be one of those sculpts, that are of that smaller scale that the sculpters used about 2 years ago. I'll post a comparison shot next time. :)

Hi,

haven't been playing in ages but would like to get back into painting a model a time, so I gfigured, entering here would motivate me.

Does the Tomcat, I should have lying around somewhere qualify the requirements?

Sorry, but no, I don't think he does.

Tomcats do have specialist profiles (Doc & Engineer) but they don't carry the DEP pictured on your mini. Actually, they have their own miniatures in the Tomcat Box Set.

So a Specialist troop does not qualify? I was guessing from the profile in InfintyArmy. Okay- than I need to dig in my infinty model stash. Thanks Errhile.

Specialist Troop does qualify, however, a Tomcat with a DEP isn't a Specialist Troop.

Tomcat Doctor and Tomcat Engineer are Specialist Troops. But they don't carry the DEP...

By "Specialist", we're going by the ITS classification. This means Hackers, Doctors, Engineers, etc.

Well I have painted a LI and a HI so time for something different.

Image

That should be all the bits for the Pathfinder Dronbot for the boys in blue (Fwd Observer specialist right?).

Before I go any further, is it really worth the effort to magnetise the kit to allow building any Dronbot?
I was originally intending to build only the Pathfinder and the Sierra. However I already think I won't get this finished for the August deadline.

@Kensa, the proxy Trauma Doc looks ace, nice model that. The armour looks very Pano-esk.
@Maxvon_d, nice start. Really like the black and purple leggings. I foresee another winning entry here lol, your Ajax was my favourite last challenge.
@red harvest, good work on Singh's face.

I love the idea of magnetising and tend to prefer WYSIWYG for models, I can never be bothered with the multi loadout remotes - just picking the bits that look coolest and then proxying that in for whatever profile. The spindly nature of Infinity models means contact points for neodymium magnets is going to be pretty small and scares me off the idea. It's not like sticking 40K Landraider sponsons on! Cool if you can do it, though.

Aw thanks :) You know, I think I've convinced myself to repaint her legs and do them as ripped black tights, to further push the emo look and differentiate her from the studio job. Also, I didn't realise that she has cyber arms til I started painting her as the studio job makes it look like she has long sleeves. Was thinking of chroming them up a bit, as long as it doesn't colour clash
