Bors painting: Working on Pi-Well Size 2

by Bors » April 18th, 2013, 9:53 pm

My first model on my first topic here. Some of you seen this before - my Intruder conversion. In fact just head swap - I used deathmark necron head instead of "bowling ball head". I think he look a lot better with it.

Just primed nad drybrushed.

And late WIP. Still have problem with red - look very flat, specially compare to the green and metalic. I always have problem with making deep, strong red - always look a little to flat and to light.

Are you highlighting the red with white? Try switching to an ochre colour, like Vallejo sunny skin tone.

I highlighted with red+orange mix, with final higlight of straight orange.
If I don't find solution suiting me, I'll change it to metallic red - like on this:

Something I've made some time ago, but hope You like it.
Small "salamander" themed Shasvastii army.
Image
The army was made around of two centerpices:
- First One is converted Speculo Killer. I wasn't fan of "lightsaber like" monofilament. First ide was some "power- whip" but melting metal edged blade was better suited for the volcanic theme of "salamander army".

- "Zombie/Vampire Earthworm Jim" Cadmus. ;) Hi Is another strong "personality" in this army.
I think, that vampire idea suits well for his rules...

And here are some "gruns"

Back in painting once again.

I'm now finishing Custodian who I call "red riding hood" (you will see soon why  ) I have some new ideas because some time ago N3 came to town and changed everything.

One of new problems is, that I love to play Zoe and Pi-Well. They look like this.
Image
But now Pi-Well is S2 model, so it should be standard man size, not zondbot size like it is now. So I'm thinkig about some conversion... And found this body in My bitsbox for Zoe favorite rough A.I. Now it will be a girl-like ;)
Image
I think, that head is similiar to Pi-Weel head. I will need some right arm, maybe with combirifle or engineer tools/toolbox. Left hand will be with some tool or fixing some laser pointer/marker on right shoulder. gunholser on right hip I will cover with some tool pounch or just remove with the filler.

Body is leftover after I made this conversion... And never painted, because I don't play Corregidor anymore. To much Corregidor players.
