Gaming mats

by Mashguy » May 28th, 2015, 10:27 pm

I was wondering has anybody used their gaming mats? I'm looking to get one for my table and was looking around for a review on them.

I've played on them once, and found the experience quite enjoyable. I can't speak for their long term effectiveness or durability, though.

Hey Mashguy!
We've only shipped out a handfull of gaming mats so far, considering they're a pretty fresh product.

That being said, we've really tried to nail down durability with this product. A vast majority of the products on the market are made in China and the neoprene doesn't have the quality we like out of a Hexagon Mill product, so we have it specially made in Taiwan. All of the printing is done using the same printer that we use for our National Park signage, and considering they choose us for printing speaks for itself.

In terms of the actual designs, they're pretty straightforward, we kept them simple so they don't detract from the terrain and miniatures, and in my own experience the simplicity makes it easier to build a board out of because there aren't any roads ect. that you have to account for and build around.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Everyone in my local meta (roughly 12 people) has loved the mat so far!

I recently bought a cheap little $4 1"x1"x48" wooden dowel to help me roll it up, though. I can imagine that's gonna save me a lot of hassle as the material it's made of it is not very willing to roll up conveniently.
