Discover and Surprise Shot

I recently came across the following situation where my Oniwaban (TO cammo) uses his first short skill to move and the second short skill to shoot at an opponent. In moving the Oniwaban generated ARO’s from 2 of the opposing models. The one chose to discover the other to reserve the ARO in order to shoot back when the Oniwaban revealed. The discovery roll was successful and the second model shot back at the Oniwaban in ARO as the Oniwaban fired at him.
The question is this – does the Oniwaban lose surprize shot for being discovered? It seems counter intuitive as both first and second short skills are assumed to occur at the same time. That being said I’m a relatively inexperienced player and would appreciate your input.

The Oniwaban would not lose surprise shot.
When a camouflage model reveals at any point during order declaration, he is considered revealed for the entire order. The Discover ARO is considered a null ARO as you cannot "discover" a revealed model.
The only real requirements for Surprise Shot are that a camouflage model revealed during that order and that part of that order was spent to shoot (which automatically reveals the model).
I hope this answered your question?

The Discover was NOT successful
It got cancelled when you announced your second short kill Shoot as it revealed you (also no take backs, so the Discover was "wasted")
You do get your surprise shot in this case
basically, imagine that one guy was trying to adjust his fancy goggles / binoculars to see that shimmering predator thingy while the guy next to him was aiming in the general direction, ready to pop a shot
TO reveals, one guy's ready to shoot, the other's fumbling for his gun
