Cover against GML?

If a unit is hit by a Guided Missile, do they get cover from the blast for the purpose of their armor rolls?

Every time I play this I get different views on it, so wanted to get it cleared up.

I've always played it as no, unless it's against a sapper, who has cover from every direction.

What Cervantes said, as far as I'm concerned. As the missile can take any route 'directional' cover isn't going to help.

Thanks gents!

I've actually given cover most of the time, but the target usually went down anyway so i guess it evened out.

Yeah, unless you have total immunity and/or ARM 8+, three DAM 14 armor checks are going to cook you with, or without cover.

I would think that models only hit by the template could claim cover based on the epicenter of the blast.

Sure, that would be standard. it's just the target that would be denied cover unless they're a Sapper or you've written extra rules for bunkers/foxholes etc.

I've a dim memory of Nanoscreens also helping if the target had SS2 to be able to get a reaction.

If you can duck or dodge (and possibly dip or dive) you can reposition the Nanoscreen, but since it's restricted to base contact it's probably a bit of a roll off/hand-shake situation.
