Rumors say preorder of the Basic Rules 3rd Ed starts the 13th. But no more manga covers and split into fluff and rules (I think this was mentioned before):

And that they ship it with (pantless) Briareos:

Wait, no fluff in the N3 rulebook anymore?
And that they ship it with (pantless) Briareos:

I really like that model!

Any idea on who is this guy and who can field him? The gun seems to be a PanO boarding shotgun, but the fellow himself doesn't resonate PanO in my eyes. Might be a merc of some kind...
A valid question, as I could get the mini if it was a Merc, but would have no use for a PAnO one.

I think he's some kind of Authorised bounty hunter type.

Bostria called him an ABH with a lucky Booty Roll, gaining +3 ARM.
And section9. The rules are a separate book, so that we won't need to carry the fluff to the LGS

Aye. Supposedly a bounty hunter that is available to the alien factions.

I think the mini is fifteen kinds of badass. I NEED it.
The book looks pretty ace, too. If they split fluff and rules I'm all for that, I dislike having to go through one to read the other.

Looks like the folks at BoW have filmed their N3 stuff - or at least had long talks about it since Carlos was localy on site to film stuff.
I sure as stink want me some of that ABH and that N3 Rule book - I like the idea of books being split. It's too bad they didn't have more rules in Op: Icestorm.
I hope we get a pre-order date and/or a release date ASAP. I want me some N3.

I'm not a huge fan of the sculpt from the pictures, but I reserve judgment till I hold it in my hand; seeing one in person usually changes my opinion(like the Keisotsu).
That said, I'll be pre-ordering the book anyway, so its not like this was a make it or break it thing. Woulda preferred someone along the lines of Gogo or the 0-12 Comish, but whatevs.

I'll pre-order 3rd ed.
The mini will probably get offloaded (I don't like the look of it and will neither paint it nor use it because of this).

I reserve judgment. It's a bad photo and looks a bit 2D.

Let me know, I will happily take Briareos Hecatonchires off your hands.

Interest noted.
As with all my other disposals, though - Locals will get first dibs.
If it survives this, I will look outside the local area.

At first glance it seems underwhelming. But I have noted that sometimes the photos do not always do the minis justice ( Sorry Bostria), especially the ones in more dynamic poses, so I'll re-evaluate my opinion when I see it in person. I will say, "Thank all that is goodness and light that it does not have its foot on a frikking rock or ruined remote or...."
I wish the MB from Icestorm was posed with both feet on the ground

It is an awesome mini. The Diva of the box. Lol
Are both books going to be hardbound? Or in a slipcover? Or...

Hardcover fluff book, softcover rule book.. as we know now. Looks like the rules will be easier to carry when you don't have to carry all the fluff around with you.

But also rulebook wearing down quicker.
I wonder if the CB may be possibly planning to make the rulebook an upgradeable part fo the set (with N4 rulebook coming into existence in a few more years, and Fluffbook remaining the same), or even making these two available separately...?

Is there a question as to whether the books will be available seprately?
Carlos has said no.

Nah, I prefer the less-inhuman full-body prosthesis used by the Rangers.
Besides, I couldn't handle having 8 eyes!

The cover will be weaker, but if like many Spanish made books, probably it will not be crappy glued, but stitched and glued. Those tend to last more than some of the just common glued ones (yes, I know, there are glue-only systems that are long lasting, and even lay-flat, but at premium).
You get the same you are getting in the hardcover "core" part, just glued to a simple cardstock instead of an articulated cover composed of three thick cardboard parts. All you need then is to shrink wrap with plastic or thick paper, and the book will last a lot.

Oh, mine won't have to - I don't bring a rulebook with me to the game. It tends to be far too unwieldly for that!
I hope of an unofficial reedit (or offcial PDF) of the rules to show up quickly. I can keep it at the LGS then.

I noticed the Icestorm book specifies that new players should go online and download the full rules for free. I expect the N3 rules PDF will be available soon after publishing.

IIRC, when 2nd edition came out, the 'Addendum' file (which has all the N1->N2 changes) was available almost immediately, and the rules-file sent to the bookmaker was posted maybe 2 weeks after the hardcovers were released.
Since Icestorm is already out, I hope that the N3 pdf shows up soon.
And frankly, if my N3 rulebook comes apart, I will do the same thing I had done with the Re-edit and mini-rulebooks for almost every other game I play: take them to Kinko's and have them spiral-bound!

My hope is that when we pre-order the book we can get some sort of beta-test/advanced PDF of the book. Not a realistic hope but a hope none the less. Then again Bostria did say if you want CB to do something we just have to throw a big fit about it on the forums and they may listen.

CB does not perform open beta-testing. They do it in-house and with a closed circle of gamers.
An advanced PDF would be good, but I find it unlikely.

Tough to do, really.
Easy if CB made it a "pre-order from us" perk, but shipping from Spain to the US is brutal. Did that for the Art book, not going to do it again.
I'd be overjoyed if CB simply released the PDF file of the rules as soon as the hardcopies are announced on the website/started shipping into the distribution network.
Because I'm still going to get a hardcopy, especially if they're updating fluff and art.

I have a feeling the PDF may not be available straight away after the book is released.
