Who's Hunting AIs

This is sort of a background brainstorm.

I'm running a Con game in a few months, and part of the window dressing will have to do with teams that might be hunting for Svengali, the criminal AI.

So, folks that would want to bring him down:
  • ALEPH
  • O-12
  • Various Human Sphere law enforcement
  • Various Human sphere crime organizations
  • Commercial R&D concerns
Who else?

Bounty Hunters, Private Detectives, Nomads (looking to recruit them), and perhaps the EI.

By faction.

Pan O
Military establishment - Rogue AI's undermine their operational security and their belief in being number one in everything in the human sphere.

Church State - Rogue AI's preach freedom, nonconformity and belittles the control of cube technology. Faithfulness is on the up and up and there are many invested in continuing this trend.

Yu Jing
The Party (Political) - Rogue AI's preach freedom, nonconformity and promotes unrest. The party likes to have good controllable unrest within the population. Uncontrollable vectors of nonconformity like Rogue AI's need to be removed.

The Dragon (ISS) - Rogue AI's are used by dissidents, miscreants and criminals to threaten the equilibrium of the 2 family system. The system is perfectly unstable as it is and any ruling emperor hates things that can't be predicted for least of all things used by the his lesser concerns to do great damage.

Ariadna
Stavka's Intelligence Department - Rogue AI's are great sources of mid to high level information that can be used to leverage things from the greater power of the sphere. Either through the 0-12 politic landscape or more directly through espionage and direct actions.

Haqqislam
Hassassin - Rogue AI's are great sources and means of tracking and or locating value data in regards to persons of interest to the Old Man of the Mountain. Many have being marked as enemies of the search for knowledge through their careless use of AI's.

Sultanate - Knowledge is business and the Sultanate knows how to do business and turn a coin at the loss of the unfaithful. capturing, interrogating and onselling of Rogue AI's are a great source of return for little investment when you control all that happens in your shipping lanes already.

Nomads
Praxis - Nothing is forbidden, nothing is sacred and all things return to their parents in time. Besides who knows what you child has learnt during their time away from home and what use it could be to you and yours. Also stick it to the man or in this case ALEPH!

Combine Army
Shasvastii - Rogue AI's are great sources of information on how to slip through the tighten nets of the Human Spheres military, paramilitary and law enforcement systems. Incursions are in affect and are having good effect already but like any good high level player of the game of poker you can always stack the cards more in your favour.

Morats - The MAF is not above exploiting all of your weaknesses. They may not be as insidious as their compatriots but they will draw down on any and all information they can gather from sources of tactical and military information like Rogue AI's.

ALPEH
ALPEH - Big brother is watching need I say more?

Tohaa
Tohaa Triumvirate - No one plays the game better than the Tohaa Triumvirate and when juicy sources of information like Rogue AI's are about they will stop at nothing to acquire them. Afterall if a few humans die to save even one Tohaa that is a trade they are most certainly willing to make.

Hope that helps.

I think you have covered the generics already though well.

On a Haqqislam front, I rather like the bit of fan speculation I read that suggests that the secretive Old Man of the Mountain is in fact an AI itself, in hiding.

Running with this idea, perhaps the Hassassins hunt other AIs either to protect the Old Man, or to induct them into the ranks?

That's an interesting bit of speculation.

Speculation aside, the Old Man of the Mountain would be interested in almost any AI, as they have the potential to unbalance plans, organizations, or even nations. Thanks!
