So I painted up a Deva for my NCA army. Which led me to ask Cho-Konnit if he had a couple of ALEPH bargains lying around... he did. Here's what I came up with to start an army with. It's based on what I have (except for the Dasyu, but I love it so I'll want to get it anyway - I also don't have netrods yet).

Viable to start with?

Netrods have a habit of scattering, IIRC. The Asura is heavy at 200 points, but you might get low on orders if all your netrods scatter off board, or in LoS from your opponent. Especially with expensive models as the Dasyu. 2 SWC for a lieutenant is ludicrous, though. I'd advice on proxying the Asura with a Multi Rifle, to give that one a LT option. the TO effect of the Dasyu falls away if you put his token on the table, and Hidden Deployment puts you in LoL.

The Sophotect is a nice addition in a Vedic themed list, her Doctor and Engineer skills allow her to repair Remotes and heal human/cyborgs.

Frankly, I'd take a look at the Dakinis. Fast moving.. although though like cardboard. They will provide some good orders that shoot peeps in ARO.

I'm no expert, but at first glance, I have to assume you're not intending to do any ITS missions with this list, given the total lack of specialists?

Nah, not at 200 pts. I'd just play YAMS or a specialist-free scenario like Frontline.

Also, Scorch: your first list doesn't have a Lieutenant, does it?

Yeah, I will prolly have to go with Dakinis. I like the list with the Asura, I'll probably aim for that one.

You could also change out up to two devabot profiles for the regular combi profile to upgrade dakinis to paramedics.

Disclaimer: I love the Devas. Models, rules, fluff. Everything.

The thing is that I have a Deva (combi rifle, loose model from the Deva box), a Sophotect and the Naga and Asura from the starter box. I don't mind picking up a couple more models to round out the list, but it'd be kinda moot not to include at least these models.

I certainly don't mind picking up another Deva or Post Humans, I love those models. The Dakinis are kind of a necessity I believe. And I can leave the Asura out of the 200 pts lists if she's too much.

My goal is to get a viable playing list without paying and painting more than I have to.
