I got inspired by Sangarn's TRIUMcorp to start my own mercenary project. I like Infinity a lot, but I can't really decide on a faction, because every faction has models I love and every faction has some I hate too. And I since I love converting minis, I just thought I do it a similar way and make a best of.
It took some time figuring out with what army to go as a base. I heard that there are new Mercenary Sectorials coming, but it will take a while. So I finally saddled on Qapu Khalki, because its simply the most Mercenary faction there is and I probably can easily transfer the concept for the other sectorials if they are based on Druze or Kaplan. For the start I decided on 10 minis I want to buy and swap heads and weapons on them and a pack of Remotes.
I made some list for different point levels and they all include a Link team, Yuan Yuans, Al'Hawwas and two Remotes. I figured since the minis are conversions I will be fine with posing them as different link teams from game to game, without creating much confusion about what is what, and keeping it fresh, even though the minis will be the same. With time the collection might will grow of course, but having a solid but flexible start is important for me.
Here are the are some of them:
150 points Ghulam Team
200 points Ghulam Team
250 points Druze Team
300 points Sekban team
I am not sure if these are the most completive list, but I tried having a wide variety of tools and some Specialist for ITS missions, who still are useful outside of it too. And QK also seems to make it one easy to including SpecOps, since they just can join any link team, when based on a Hafza.
I also read shotguns might get better next edition, which sounds pretty good for the Al'Hawwa and hopefully all the LSGs equipped troops too.
